How strict is DC Bulla in enforcing the 20 day rule in EDCR 2.35?

She is practical on this and understands that submission frequently does not occur within 20 days. The requirement for original signatures in the day of mandatory electronic filing should be reconsidered. Original sigs plus runner service etc. frequently adds on additional time. Plus, if the parties stipulated anyway, it should be approved. Just my 2 cents.

The War Machine's many neck tattoos will do nothing but endear him to the jury. Let your freak flag fly, buddy; just not where the judge can see it.

I have an offer of judgment question, when you prepare it, do you also include the declaratory relief sought as well as money damages? Thank you for the responses.

A great resource for Offer of Judgement questions is Mike Mills' Nevada Insurance Law blog. http://www.NevadaInsuranceLaw.com You can find a link in the right column of this blog in the Links section. Also, Mike's blogs have a great search feature making research easy. I subscribed for updates and that helps also.

a couple of weeks ago I saw Justice Douglas coming out of one of the office building on Howard Hughes parkway and he got into a beat up old blue truck. Very curious what he was doing and why he drives the beat up truck.

Every time I see him, once a month at the Inns of Courts, he always seems to drive away in a Porsche Cayenne SUV.

I agree with 1:41. I think a good gauge for bad character is when a new law grad lands his/her first 100k a year job and buys a fancy Mercedes or BMW. I sorta get it if you're a solo and want to make sure your potential clients don't think you're a shmnoe. But otherwise get a safe reliable vehicle.

Those 1st year law grad vehicles are my favorite to pick up at the auto repo auctions. Low miles because they couldn't afford to drive them, and the depreciation hit was taken by then, not me.

I'm calling bullshit on 2:19, dealers get those, they don't hit the repo auction. But nice try cool guy.

There's a second year law grad who's going around town driving a BMW i8, and such person doesn't even clear 80k from my knowledge. Over/under on time til bankruptcy is filed anyone?

You just have to know a dealer. There's a few in town who make a decent living by buying a pre-determined vehicle in the morning and reselling to the client that afternoon.

I just googled BMW i8. I clearly came out of the wrong womb man. Fuck that's a beautiful car (but I'll never own it because even if I could afford it I'd rather just keep the money for ski trips).

To the i8 owner, is your sugardaddy/momma looking for additional people to shower with gifts. Asking for a friend.

Not the i8 guy, but I think paying someone's lease payment constitutes a gift dude.

You can't be too careful with cars. Know a lawyer who represented dealers and car makers. He got a car at the auction-luxury division with 1800 miles. What could be wrong with such a car? Well, he had a leak, took it to the dealer who told them could not cover the repair because it had been damaged apparently in an accident. The guy who got the car at the auction got insurance on the car and got it covered. He was able to return the car back to the auction. Dealers usually get three days to take cars back. There are a lot of good cars at the auction but you have to be careful. Nothing worse than car problems. This is why I drive something unimpressive-an Acura. At least I won't be in a hook. I have handled a couple of lemon law cases. No fun. I won't take another one. Unless there is a good personal injury case with it.

3:15, I agree, but personally its kinda lame to get someone a car and say "by the way, its only yours for 3 years after that you are on your own." I guess its the thought that counts?

I also believe there is a younger attorney (third/fourth year law grad?) who drives an Audi R8. I think I would take that over the Cayenne SUV or BMW i8

This is not the i8 "fella" but I know him, and he definitely did not make money playing poker prior to law school (I do not think he even played poker at all). The person with the R8, however, was known to be a poker player prior to law school. Ironically, the i8 fella and the R8 person used to be roommates during law school. Either way,not sure if poker had anything to do with either of their cars, respectively.

I think Justice Douglas likes to tinker on old cars. He is probably fixing up the truck. Relatively cheap hobby compared to others, all things considered.

Nobody makes money playing poker long-term. Some of the famous guys make money from endorsements and other projects. The greatest poker player of all-time died penniless in a seedy motel across from the Stratosphere. If you think you're a better player than him, you're insane.

Douglas, J. choice to drive a beat up old vehicle when he has the financial means to buy more shows that he has his priorities straight. Why pay more when he just needs to get from point A to point B. He can use the unspent money when he retires.
