Scott Dozier’s execution is set for July 11. [Las Vegas Sun]
Adam Laxalt’s aunt is endorsing Aaron Ford for AG. [TNI]
More than half of the Nevada occupational licensing boards don’t keep their salaries in line with state directives. No word on whether this would include the Nevada bar. [TNI]
The Las Vegas City Council voted to authorize payment of up to $100,000 in attorney fees for McDonald Carano to defend it in two separate cases related to the Badlands development. [RJ]
9:05 – There are a million reasons not to vote for Laxalt, but "his dad was ashamed of him" is not one of them. You may need to consider the fact that you are probably an asshole.
9:43 think it through, if the shame is for an articulable reason relevant to the election, then it would be a reason, not in and of itself but as a reflector of something, just saying i'd ask before inferring asshole, u may b right but i'd want to kno more
Ralston, what a hack. This isn't news. In fact, this same aunt opposed him when he ran for AG. It has everything to do with internal family dynamics. Oppose Laxalt for lots of objective reasons, but not because his aunt doesn't get along with his mother.
Ralston is an interesting cat. He leans left, but most of his bias isn't political, it's very, very personal. If he decides he doesn't like someone, he goes out of his way to attack them. Sometimes, it feels like Ralston sees himself as a gatekeeper to Nevada politics. For whatever reason, he is obsessed with and hates Laxalt in a very personal way. I don't like Laxalt's politics, but, to his credit, he has remained disciplined and not joined Ralston in the mud. Ralston is a big deal to people who eat and breath Nevada politics, but is a non-factor to most voters. I suspect most voters do not even know the Nevada Independent exists. Laxalt probably sees this too.

The governor’s annual salary is only $149,753? I guess he gets a free house and probably tons of other perks that don't count as compensation, but that seems pretty low. I would have thought at least $200k.
Give it a flashy name amIright? He'll be drinking "the scofflaw."

Anyone have ODYSSEY and Attorney Corner go completely down? Frustrating halfway through 2018 that we are still dealing with absolute garbage for a system.
It's not like using Odyssey is mandatory. Oh, wait, never mind.

Does Jon Ralston have a stutter, or is it something else? I mean no offense. I just have a hard time focusing on what he is saying and wondered if it was a speech impediment or something else.
I don't think so. I think that he just loves the sound of his own voice so much that when he finally gets a chance to talk, he blurts it all out at once and it sounds a little garbled.

That state bar wellness survey is nonsense. Tried to participate just to help but it is poorly written and way too much work. For one thing, it completely cuts out government attorneys.
OMG! Why did I not know about Laxalt's daddy issues? hahahaha If his dad was ashamed of him, why should we elect him?

and you are probably right
Neena Laxalt? OK, I'm calling BS. This is not the name of a real person. It's a Douglas Adams character.

How about "Let's not elect Governor Trump"? Is that articulable enough?
I don't like Laxalt, but for someone to revel in the reality of a broken family–like you do–is beyond pathetic.

O/U on the execution actually happening?
You mean with Nevada inventing its own cocktail? What could go wrong with this scenario?

Daily…then we get on the phone to have technician confirm it is down…and wait.
