Boycotting Fashion Show Mall.

Why? Fashion Show Mall is a business and didn't want the protest converging on its business' property (which a television station's camera would certainly have encouraged). The "experienced and respected journalist" should have understood this, and could have easily moved his camera to get a good shot.

It is a shame that the RJ has devolved into such a poor and overtly bias news source. Does it bother anyone else that Las Vegas no longer has a legitimate news source?

The best example of this is the first big investigative piece under Adelson is the story on LVCVA spending. Adelson considers LVCVA a competitor. Aren't we big enough to have a legitimate newspaper?

The effusive "analysis" piece on the front page of Sunday's paper read like something out of state run media in a Banana Republic.

I think the Nevada Independent will try to fill some of that role, but they're very busy with legislature at the moment.

TNI once again shows why wonkish reporting is great for wonks but dry as white toast for a majority of the population who clamors for pablum.

TNI has some quality stuff, but, unfortunately Ralston can also be quite petty personally, although he is a bit more subtle than King Sheldon.

Oh man, @10:35 is making me hungry! Right now I'd love to spread some juicy pablum on a thick slice of white toast.

I was speaking with someone from the city, and what he suggested was that in exchange for $750 million in public funds, Las Vegas is given the Raiders trademark if the team leaves before the stadium is paid off

Is that supposed to be good deal? Seems like we could get something better for $750M

I moved to Vegas from Houston, Texas. When the Houston Oilers left for Tennessee, they changed their name to the Tennessee Titans. What makes you think if they move here they'll keep the 'Raiders' name (I think they will…) or if they move out of Vegas they'd keep the Raiders name.

The Raiders have way too much brand equity (Raider Nation, anyone??) to change the name. And the crazies will love coming here, so no, I've got money over at William Hill that says they ain't changing their name.

The 8th JD has issued an administrative order which creates a new homicide team of 4 judges who will hear all murder cases. This should be interesting. http://www.clarkcountycourts.us/media/releases/Administrative%20Order%2017-05.pdf

Herndon, Adair, Togliotti, Eric Johnson are on the "Homicide Team". I'm not a criminal guy, but it seems like it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to get a group of judges together who know how to handle murder cases. Are these judges the right four? No idea.

Well Herndon, Adair and Togliatti all came from the District Attorneys' Office and state criminal background. Johnson has murdered the rules of evidence and rules of professional conduct, as well as killed quite a few mornings of mine over the last year, so I guess he knows something about killings also.
