According to the LV Sun, Las Vegas attorney Barry Levinson is under fire from the State Bar of Nevada for allegedly “repeatedly misappropriated funds and has compounded his misconduct by repeatedly lying to clients and the State Bar regarding his delay in disbursing funds to the appropriate parties. . . . Levinson’s lies, combined with his failure to cooperate, constitute an obstruction to the State Bar’s investigation, as does Levinson’s failure to provide information requested.” Ouch!
Essentially, the Bar is alleging that Levinson was running a ponzi scheme with client settlement funds – paying funds from more recent settlements to clients with cases that had previously settled.
According to the article, the bar called attorney Barry Levinson a “substantial threat” to the public and said it wants the Nevada Supreme Court to issue a “swift and immediate suspension” of his license while the bar conducts formal disciplinary proceedings against him.
The article also mentions that Levinson denies any wrongdoing and that he plans to issue a formal response disputing the Bar’s allegations.
Regardless of the outcome in this case, I guess the lessons here are that Bar does not mess around when it comes to: (1) the handling of client funds; and (2) issuing timely responses to its inquiries.
If so, then why no action against T.V. Lawyer, Adam S. Kutner? I hear there are several complaints pending, one for almost a year. Nothing!
I have heard Kutner is scum. Has anyone ever actually seen him in court?

I once saw Mr. Levinson argue with a Justice of the Peace who proceeded to pull out the rule book and read to him the part that proved she was right and he was wrong. Good times.

Tom Pitaro must be a very scary guy. Clearly he scares Stefany Miley. I wonder how much Pitaro contributed to her election campaign. Among the weak elected judges in Clark County, Stefany Miley is the weakest.

Barry screwed many that could not afford to be cheated he prayed on the weak then when it came time for court he sent paralegal to play lawyer. while he swam in the pool at his mansion parting like a rock star!!! I hope the state bar has a little voice in their head that says FINSH HIM !!!!
Barry Levinson is the worst lawyer in Las Vegas. That is quite an accomplishment.
Now the tables have turn I wish he also files for bankcrupcy and make him feel how we felt for more than two years of no closure in our case. I wish that Nevada State punish him to the fullest. And hope that they include all his paralegals too.

Barry Levinson should be disbarred. It's about time.
I don't know why Levinson holds himself out as a bankruptcy attorney or bankruptcy firm. From what I have seen, he sends some 1st or 2nd year attorney to bankruptcy court who knows nothing, which attorneys promptly get their asses handed to them by the judges. I have seen at least one instance where the court grew very frustrated and disgorged all of his firm's fees.
I'm a little late to the party on this one but re: Kutner he doesn't litigate, he uses Fasset & Cardoza for that purpose.
Barry Levinson is trash. I agree with the other posts here about him. It's about time.
Barry also cannot seem to pay his employees, and when he does, is most likely using trust fund money to do so. I know first hand that he doesn't pay his employees unless they harass and beg to be compensated for the work they did.
Barry Levinson is the worst attorney in Las Vegas. After dealing with him for almost two years it came down to when our case was supposed to be heard no one showed up. Our case was dismissed and we were in a bind. Never received any straight answers from him or his staff.
