I have literally called DETR 150 times this morning and I cannot talk to a human being. As a result I called the office of the governor and was told that there was nothing they could do. Please tell me what is going on here.
5:59, what is your damn problem, bot????? People are out of work because of no fault of their own, and assholes like are…let me guess, you are an old fart judge who is getting paid by me. Go fuck yourself!
11:20 is absolutely correct that 5:59 is very insensitive, uncaring, obnoxious and way out of line, and has been glib and dismissive when greatly simplifying a complex, multi-layered issue.
But despite the fact the message was conveyed in a very flippant, almost casually cruel manner, does not change the fact that there is something to the message.
If the people on this blog who are desperately waiting for these benefits are attorneys, and unless they are not young attorneys in the first few years of practice, it does raise some valid points about financial and career planning and life choices.
One point being that a main reason we sacrifice all those years of time and money to eventually become attorneys is so that we will not be a slave to the next paycheck, and not living pay period to pay period in order to survive.
Now, if some attorneys have large families(including now having older children with large college tuitions) and if the attorney and his/her spouse live and maintain a certain lifestyle, I understand that and am not criticizing those decisions.
But those are still life choices made by the attorney and explain why some attorneys, even some who have been practicing a couple decades, may be reliant on these government benefits at these most trying of times.
So even though 5:59 behaves like an arrogant, insensitive jack ass who cares little of the plight of others, and appears to have little or no real compassion or insight, that does not change the fact that many of us believe that attorneys(particularly long-licensed veteran attorneys) who are currently reliant on waiting for these benefits, are in that positon because of their own life choices and financial planning.
5:59 simply took a potentially valid point and expressed in the worst conceivable manner
Also, blaming some politician or bureaucrat for not processing the payment of funds in a timely or competent fashion does no good. In fact, it is safe to assume that any politician or bureaucrat entrusted with such project will invariably make a hash of it.

10 weeks on a PUA claim. Have a family to feed. When, Barbara Buckley? You said it would be about a week for claims once you took over? Now it is over a months since you took over DETR, unacceptable.

I find it interesting that the Sahara is represented by in-house counsel in its defamation lawsuit against Vital Vegas.

Anyone see Jerry Nadler shit his pants on live TV yesterday? Good Stuff.
Anyone with problems collecting their PUA or unemployment should call their NV state representatives. It took me 13 weeks to collect my PUA benefits – and my local assembly person helped. Plus 3 hours to complete my on line application. I too, called 135 times in 1 day trying to get a human being on the phone. This mess is brought to you by the Nevada Legislator who refused to fund upgrades to the unemployment system. No contingency planning.

Listen carefully: Sisolak does not a give a shit about you or your family.
Got it?
Good.
Don't worry about voting, he's got that covered for you. Just starve quietly.
Why not work as hard at getting a job as you do trying to get unemployment.
