Is something afoot over at Lionel Sawyer Collins? A visit to their site says it is temporarily offline for maintenance. Meanwhile, an anonymous tipster informs us that a possible merger deal between LSC and an upper Midwest firm has gone south. Anyone privy to the details?
The Nevada Supreme Court found that a district court’s abuse of discretion was a harmless order and upheld a million dollar judgment against a security firm with regard the death of a man in a Walmart parking lot. [Wackenhut of Nevada, Inc. v. Smith; RJ]
Two Metro supervisors are asking the Nevada Attorney General to investigate a potential cover-up related to the death of David VanBuskirk, who fell from a Metro helicopter last year. [RJ]
Judge Kathleen Delaney, who is up for election this fall against Sean Connell, will be sentencing the convicted murderer of a “Fantasy” dancer tomorrow. [Las Vegas Sun]
Looks like the website is back up. How many names disappeared from the attorney list?

LS&C, aren't these the nice people who let support staff go right before July 4th? Ah, I love this profession!

According to the list currently up, compared to the list in May (from Archive.org), the following attorneys are no longer listed
Steven Anderson- At Jackson Lewis
Greg Carlson no new firm
Fred D. "Pete"Gibson III – Deceased
Paul E. Larsen – Own firm
John M Naylor – No new firm
Rory Reid – No New firm
If memory serves, Rory left some time ago to great fanfare that he was doing so to better focus on his television show. Not being into lopsided political drivel (seriously, Amy Tarkanian? Can't the Republicans com up with a better rep for the show?) I've never actually watched it but I'm sure it is a full time job necessitating his departure as a partner from LS&C.

There's also Bob Faiss (deceased), Marla Hudgens and Ryan Andersen who have left fairly recently.

John Naylor and Jennifer Braster just opened up their own firm. I hear Max Couvillier left. Today, when I clicked for the attorneys page, I got this message "The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error. Please contact the website administrator."

Couvillier went to Black & LoBello. Bad decision….
Bad web hoster is bad. Also ls&c isn't contracting or downsizing its imploding. Bleeding talent.
