After a zoom party last year, we are back to going out for a firm lunch this year.
From the Democratic Socialists of America article: "Do they, and the hundreds of other members of Vegas DSA, support this tyranny?" The author is shocked they kicked her out for not conforming to their insane beliefs? Wake up! Relatedly, are all those judges who participated in Emerge Nevada mentioned the other day socialists?
Allf, Delaney, Kishner, Sturman and others are listed as Emerge alumni
https://nv.emergeamerica.org/alumnae/in-elected-office/
As stated the other day, Emerge seeks to get Democrats elected into office (despite judgeships supposedly being non-partisan). I wonder how far along the socialism spectrum one needs to be to join Emerge? Anyone have any insight?
Elissa Cadish? Ozzie Fumo? Steve Wolfson?
Emerge alumni. Wait till another group of emerge candidate challenges Alf, Delaney, Kishner or Sturman. These are all "white" females not persons of color or minorities. They first came for the established older white male incumbent judges. Many of those were very good judges–Trevor Atkin and Rob Bare come to mind. They tried to pick off others but did not fully succeed. Wait till the "Emerge" candidates start to pick off white older female incumbent judges by running candidates against them.
Good, Allf needs to go.
Kishner needs to go.
So a socialist is upset that the political belief that perfected the "unpersoning" of those who did not conform or otherwise ticked off the more powerful amongst them asks, presumably with a straight face: "[t]he hard question that must be asked, though, is what are the beliefs of Democrats running the state and local parties and affiliated clubs? Anna Albertson, Judith Whitmer, chairperson of the Nevada State Democratic Party, and Chris Roberts, chair of the Clark County Democrats, are all Las Vegas DSA members. Do they, and the hundreds of other members of Vegas DSA, support this tyranny? Are they okay belonging to a group aiming to silence dissent and select kinds of speech?" Uh…yeah. They. Are. SOCIALISTS! This sort of behavior is baked into the DNA of socialism. And no, democratic socialists are not different than any other prior socialist system. They just try to appeal to a wider group by adding the insignificant label Democratic then claiming they are the real socialist because, after all, all the prior socialists didn't really do it right. Such a joy to see history repeated in real time and the "unpersoned" (admittedly not as permanently unpersoned as those Stalin decided to remove from the discussion and party) socialist is still unable to figure out why it happened.
The article sounds like a bunch of mean-girl jackasses. The author seems to think a lot of herself and is trying to cultivate a contrarian personae/reputation…a very annoying person. Then there's people like 8:19 and 11:10 who equate any non-trumper to be a socialist/communist. Emerge has nothing to do with DSA. Their goal is to get democratic women elected. Nothing in their platform mentions socialism.
So, all in all, we're surrounded by assholes to the left and assholes to the right. Yay.
8:19 here. I said nothing about emerge. I did mention an admitted socialist is upset other socialist are doing socialist shit. But since you mention it, Emerge is much more closely aligned with the socialists (go read the mission statement and then look at the board of directors) than what my generation (yes, a "boomer") would call a democrat. I just find it funny how the left refuses to admit they want socialism. At least the upset socialist has the good grace to claim to be a socialist. You might want to get off your righteous indignation hobby horse long enough to re-read what I wrote. Nothing about trump. Nothing about emerge (other than to pull a quote from her article naming names) and everything about your generations (yep, I am guessing you are younger) lack of historical knowledge.
3:54–Why does she need to go? Because you had an isolated motion before her and she correctly applied the law and ruled against you?
Grow up and grow tougher skin. You'll win many, but also lose many, before your career is done. Just the way it is.
For me, Kishner is nasty, scatterbrained and inefficient. I can't stand sitting through a calendar. She doesn't doesn't seem like a pleasant woman.
I was and am friends with Judge Kishner off of the bench. With that said, she has a terrible case Robe-itis on the bench.
My firm does a Disneyland trip and small bonuses instead of a party. Sounds good to me.
Found the Hutchison & Steffen associate. Surprised your bonuses are small. I think that is the way to go though. Just pay what I am worth and fire me if I don't measure up. Forget all the performance and billing nonsense.
My firm is going to send Julian Assange a care package. Unbelievable what they are doing to him.
Assange should fry.
I am no fan of the government, but Assange operated in a world without any kind of accountability, standards or ethics. Nobody appointed or elected him to a position to decide which government documents become public, and in what way. We already saw the shameful way this was politicized when Wikileaks started to leak Podesta emails as the Access Hollywood tape story broke in an attempt to draw attention away from the latter story When he made mistakes, to what authority did he have to answer? None. He has to go to prison.
Where's my Rolls Royce? Why is Sam Lionel giving a million to the free extern program at Boyd. Slave labor. The externs should be getting paid
Universities are full of such bloat. Probably among the most unworthy "non-profits" as to donations. It's too bad because education is such deserving cause.
When you are 102, you can do what you want.
Anyone ever been threatened by a public official? State agency, where do I report this?
FBI/AG
It is illegal for a state agency to threaten you. Report it.
State Bar threatens to kill my livelihood unless I pay them cash every year. Then they force me to spend hours watching/listening to propaganda. Where do I report this abuse?
