Stavros you will lose. Elissa Cadish does not like you.
Anyone think of any reasons why we should fill out the vaccination survey from the bar as opposed to health district one?
The state bar vaccine survey is weird. It asks for your trial date. As a family law attorney I always have trials on calendar. Which date do they want me to pick? What a stupid survey. Once again the Bar never fails to disappoint.
How does my staff sign up? I passed the link to staff and the survey site says you have already completed the survey.
It initially asks for a trial date, and then asks for a hearing or arbitration date.
The Survey is a DISASTER. I clicked away to verify my next trial/live hearing date and came back and it stated that I completed the survey and was locked out. All of my staff clicked the link and were told that the survey was already completed. State Bar of Nevada you never cease to amaze me in terrible ways.
This disaster brought to you by your Harvard quality BOGs.
Watch the data on the vaccines. I'd wait just a bit longer before being injected.
Like hell will I ever get this shot. Ever.
Pick the earliest one, of course, if you want to get the vaccine earlier rather than later. Hard to figure out for a family law attorney I guess….
Agreed that it seems unlikely that a special election request of a Republican candidate will be granted against Democrat Ross Miller, who of course was Secretary Of State as well as the son of our longest serving governor.
Also, Stavros has not always made decisions that have endeared him to city or county power brokers. Running against Carolyn Goodman for Mayor, rather than getting out of the way and simply allowing the anointment process to occur, may have showed some back bone on his part, but was not smart considering what the fall out would be, and considering that he never had any realistic chance to get even remotely close to her final election numbers.
He's been, overall, good for the city, and, unlike many of them, had the guts to make the right decisions for his constituents, rather than catering to the whims of the power brokers and special interests. But, in politics, exercising courage, integrity, and independence, always comes at a personal price(which, admittedly, is a very disturbing dynamic).
And the price he likely pays is as indicated by 10:37. He is unlikely to prevail, even though it was a good move to hire Hutchison as his lawyer.
But, peeling away all the unfortunate political machinizations, I think it's a solid case for a new special election. I believe that first count he lost by 15 votes, then second count by 30, and then final count by just 10. And then there is this matter of 139 phantom or mysterious ballots, and whether or not they are valid and should or should not be considered, etc.
But even if a special election is ordered, he will probably not be elected. When special elections are granted to challengers who just lost by a few votes, in the special election they invariably lose again, and by a much greater margin than in the original election. Perhaps people view the challenger as a sore loser or malcontent who does not accept the will of the people. Don't know the reason, but anecdotally speaking, that is what occurs most of the time.
11:54–your comment could have been a lot shorter and more concise, but I tend to agree.
The recounts were so close, plus there were other issues, so a special election is warranted.
But true that it will probably not be granted, and that even if it is he is unlikely to win a special election.

Anyone else heard that Scott Canepa died?
Here is the link to the Obituary.

Will they do a soils report before the burial?
Wow 2 weeks ago and just hearing about it now. An asshole in cases but a really good lawyer and not a bad guy once the whistles blew.
Smartest guy in my law school class. By far.
You knew back then he was going to be successful.
Oh, that is terrible news. I had no idea he was ill. A gifted lawyer and decent man.
Canepa was a top notch. Rest in Peace.
My understanding is that it was sudden. I heard this from someone who had just talked to him a couple of days before.
Anyone have an effective way to pull all text messages between two people off an Iphone for production? Screenshotting is tiresome when there are years of texts to copy. Anyone have some software or a company they recommend? Thanks.
Sorry this likely isn't what you want to hear – but if you're going to do it for production and its that important – you should retain one of the local IT experts like HOLO and they produce this excellent report, very easy and then they have them authenticated too – so you don't have admissibility issues.
I concur.
I third using HOLO to avoid the opposing party claiming that you or your client altered the extracted messages.
This may sound obvious, but make sure any forensic examiner has fire sprinklers. What makes me say this? Remember the huge fire on Charleston in 2019? Guess who had the paper records and all the computers of an entire business we had seized at a forensic examiner on that fateful evening? Guess where that examiner was? You get the picture.
Here's the recipe: truckload of cardboard bankers boxes, several computers, add huge fire, stir and simmer, douse in water. Serves four to six.
One of my sergeants had the nightmare of sifting through it the day after. Not half as bad as the quite justifiable outrage from the defendant. So don't assume that someone who stores paper in their business has the brains to have a fire sprinkler.
