I am a little surprised that Navarro ruled against the UNLV grad student. It sounds like the right decision, though, and the Ninth Circuit affirmed.
Another in a long line of beatdowns and findings of frivolous and vexatious lawsuits. Someone even put some interesting documents on blast: https://www.scribd.com/user/231538669/Jason-Bach
So that UNLV Professor appears to have taken it personally as against Mr. Bach.
I just got the Nevada Lawyer for this month and 6 of the 7 attorneys that had suspensions issued had the majority of their suspensions stayed with conditions.
Alda Anderson suspended 18 months all of it stayed (taking trust funds for personal expenses);
Brian Boggess two year suspension all but 3 months stayed with conditions for non-intentional issues with his trust account;
both Haines & Krieger three years suspension ALL stayed and they just have to tell clients that hire both their law firm and their real estate brokerage of a possible conflict of interest;
Jonathan Goldsmith two year suspension, all but 9 months stayed for what appears to be substance abuse issues causing lack of oversight at his firm;
Karlon Kidder one year suspension with 9 months stayed for what appears to be office mismanagement;
Another attorney (Lombino) suspended for 6 months without any stay; and
Marina Kolias makes her second debut with another suspension, this time for 5 more years (on top of her already issued suspension of, I believe, 5 years back in Oct 2015).
When did the State Bar start doing stayed suspensions with conditions (similar to probation) as opposed to actual suspensions (similar to jail time) ?
Whoops – 6 of the 8 attorneys.
I believe that when an attorney steals from his/her trust account and/or clients, they should be disbarred and criminally prosecuted. It is crazy that in our society people are being incarcerated for stealing food from 7-11, while attorneys get away with things much more serious
Curiously missing was a repeat offender who has been suspended for two years (stayed for 6 months) for dipping into his client trust account.
Does anyone know the details of Karlon Kidder's proceedings?

Weren't there a lot of bar complaints against Haines and Krieger? This Order only deals with a conflict of interest from a realtor practice they had. Wonder who represented Haines and Krieger?
Dennis Kennedy represented H&K. And this Order deals with all allegations and complaints against H&K.
Good result by Dennis Kennedy presumably. Must have cost them a lot of $$$$.
How much do you want to bet that H&K are big b/doners in town and so is Dennis Kennedy himself? This town is as transparent as the bras and panties on the strip…
Those cheap bastards don't contribute to anyone. They did pay Kennedy a good amount. That was a good deal considering it was a 54 page complaint. They should have been suspended.
Haines and Krieger seem to have the Teflon effect when it comes to problems with the Bar as the Bar have a problem taking licenses away because of the poor people they screwed. I think the Bar needs to be investigated for not acting and representing the unsuspecting public who have used this firm. I read that they are on a 3 year stayed suspension and I know they will mess up before then. Its just a matter of time as old habits die hard.
Sorry you were one of the consumers that they screwed. The deal was made a long time ago in the middle of a very long hearing. Old news.
