Happy Good Friday/Passover everyone! Those of you with CCSD students have already been doing spring break this week. What about the rest of you? Anything fun going on this weekend? Getting ready for a trial next week?  What else is going on?

Voting for Bogs, can you vote for one person more than once? How do you do it on the ballot? I know you used to be able to do that.

It has always seemed weird to me to say "Happy Good Friday." Same with people saying "happy Veteran's Day" or "happy Memorial Day."

Okay, I understand "Happy Memorial Day", because that is a day to remember the fallen and, thus, it isn't a joyous occasion. However, what's wrong with "Happy Veterans Day"? That's a day to celebrate the living veterans who served? That's a joyous occasion.

10:42 here. 11:57: that is a good point about Veterans Day. I hadn't thought of it that way.

"Happy Veterans Day!" bothers me because it seems to trivialize what the day really stands for. As in celebrating just a day off of work.

But I see now how it can be used respectfully and meaningfully. Thank you.

If you are going to write in a name for the BOG, you can't do better than Alfred E. Newman.

BOG elections?

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

In my view, the winners of the election will chiefly consist of re-elected incumbents who are primarily there for self-aggrandizement rather than truly serving their constituents, with a few newly elected people mixed in who are essentially the same as the incumbents.

It seems to me that when an incumbent leaves, based on term limits, often a replacement is recruited from the same, large prominent firm as the departing incumbent.

So, that pattern shows why little, or nothing, ever changes.

I used to think that harsh critics of the BOG were too sweeping and general in their criticisms, and were not allowing that there are a few good ones on BOG who don't fit the negative stereotypes.

But the longer I practice the more I realize how right those critics were, and are.

And, no, I'm not a failed BOG candidate. I am referring to a blog on Tuesday at 1:54 where the blogger(presumably a current or former BOG officer, or at least a besotted fan of the BOG) most arrogantly and bizarrely pronounced that they happen to "know" that all the anonymous blogs critical of BOG were posted by failed, embittered BOG candidates. I didn't realize BOG members had such incredibly omniscience–that they automatically "know" the identity of dozens of different anonymous bloggers and likewise "know" for a certainty that they are all failed BOG candidates.

This type of preposterous arrogance simply leads people to hold the BOG in even less esteem than they had.

2:58–I'm not necessarily a critic of the B.O.G., and in fact have a couple fairly close colleagues who served in the past.

But I did see that post you refer to(1:54 on Tuesday)and, yes, that was quite absurd and delusional.
