As many of you know, its party time tonight at CPK’s place! I could be mistaken, but I think the party is at thier new offices – convieniently located at 501 S. 8th Street in downtown Las Vegas. Please report all good gossip and forward all good pictures from the party.
Also, it looks like MAC finaly got a long overdue website makeover. Some of the attorneys now even have videos on their profile pages. Lookin good, MAC!
And speaking of MAC, word on the street is that they just hired former New Orleans public defender and Las Vegas contract defender Greg Denue as an associate attorney.
A quick google search turned up an unflattering article about Denue. If he shows up at CPK’s party tonight, Im sure he and Kenny – who attended law school in New Orleans – will have a lot to chat about.
Finally, J. Mac was in the news again this week. That guy just can’t seem to catch a break.
Anything else going on?
Happy Friday, everyone!
I just passed the bar, and this was my first CPK party (I did not go to UNLV for law school).
Great party. The cover band was great. I really enjoyed all the people I met. The new CPK offices are justly the envy of every attorney in Las Vegas. A great time. I can't wait for next year.
District Court judges drunk and slurring their words. Vegas Baby!
Why don't the insurance defense firms throw parties like CPK's?
stealst
Why don't other PI firms throw parties like Craig's? C'mon Eglet – share the wealth.
Eglet has great parties; but you have to be invited.
It's time to rate the judges! Maybe this would make a good topic…
Okay. Who is the hottest looking judge?
Eglet: really, "Ad Men" — that's cutting edge. Should do Walking Dead! But, then again, most attorneys wouldn't need makeup to be zombies…
er, "mad men" … shoot
It was very very cathartic filling out my judicial survey — although as far as anonymity goes, it makes me a little nervous that my pin number was my bar number.
Don't worry. The dipshit Clark County voters pay little to no attention to the survey results. If they vote, they vote for the cadidate with the biggest/most/prettiest signs.
There is absolutely no point to filling out that survey, catharsis notwithstanding.
and so it begins…
"David Amesbury, 57, is the first lawyer to plead guilty for his part in a wide-ranging scheme that has already resulted in guilty pleas by seven other defendants, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. All have agreed to testify against other, higher-level wrongdoers. The ongoing probe targets lawyers, judges and former police officers, the story says. The Associated Press and a press release also have details."

We have one attorney who is filing with the Supreme Court on contempt allegations and another pleading guilty to a felony at the center of the biggest bar-related corruption scandal and yet there are no posts.
Looks like it's time for someone else to take the reigns. I would do it, but I was just admitted and I'm not plugged in well enough to pull it off.
At the very least though, someone could post an open thread every Friday. And the occassional BK Hottie sighting.
Am I right?
blog is dead
