Gotta be honest. Its DT Summerlin for me, if I was considering moving my firm. Quick shot down Summerlin Parkway to Court (for as long as they require in person). Southwest is too far out for me.

Especially not for a 150k Sq.Ft 3 story warehouse. That’s just offensive to my sense of Class A office space.

Agreed. I wouldn’t consider setting up shop in Spring Valley or Henderson. The 15 is just too unpredictable and the traffic gets so clogged up in the areas around the 215. Summerlin is the obvious choice.

The 215 isn’t too bad per se. But, the new I-15 / CC215 Interchange that is beginning to take shape will make it bananas in the next few months. Anything that requires daily use of the shit show that is I-15, US95 (East Side) to get to court is off limits for me.

Cost is no object? DT Summerlin. However I know what you people in DT Summerlin are paying for rents and cannot justify that under any circumstances.

It seems as if there has been an exodus from Howard Hughes in recent years. I hear that the rent was jacked up, and last time I was over there it was a nightmare with all of the apartments shoehorned into the former parking lots and open areas. Plus I always found it incredibly inconvenient to get to, no matter where you were coming from (unless you were in for the day from the airport I suppose). I know JAMS moved out of the tower, and I believe several firms did as well. I remember my first visit over there 30 years or so ago to interview with Gordon & Silver (I did not take the job).

If Hicks wants to dismantle plea bargaining as we know it that’s his prerogative, but he better go ask the county for 5 more judges and 20 more public defenders.

Speaking of PI firms, am I the only one who has noticed the conspicuously high number of young attractive women at these firms?! Always seems suspicious how their “case managers” seem to fit a certain mold… Just saying.

The general tone of this godforsaken blog wrapped up in one mouth-breathing, garlic-sweating ass comment.

Nothing better than seeing our duly elected officials zealously representing *checks notes* their own wallets while “Las Vegas Tops Nation as Eviction Crisis Spreads Across America”… right above the headline about a targeted shooting of five homeless people.

And of course, most of the comments here being about whether we want to sit and drink coffee with our thumbs up our asses in Summerlin or Henderson.

You mean the drug deal gone bad? Stop trying to paint that shooting as some sort of anti-homeless violence. It’s disingenuous at best.

The idea that making evictions harder solves or even mitigates the so-called “housing crisis” is laughable. Those bills would have only masked the symptom of expensive housing and rents, not address the core problems. No government, in the history of human kind, has ever effectively address a “housing crises.” There was similar handwringing in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The same force that solved the affordability crisis back then will solve it again: the market.

To your first point – Cool, then maybe the governor and legislators should actually come up with something to help abate the problem. Ideally, I like my representatives to be capable of more than “no <3" and showing up at various sporting events.

To your second point – "No government in the history of human kind" is honestly insane, and then you follow up by talking about a 1) three-year time span, 2) twenty years ago, 3) in the United States.

I appreciate you divulging this is a waste of time so quickly. I do have a few things to finish up. Get home safe!

The Law Blog edits opinions right and left but allows crude sexist comments about women? Might want to modify your high ethical standards.

If you are male, and think that comment was referring negatively to women, I pity you. If you are female and think that, I pity your male partners, if any. If you are female with no interest in male partners, carry on.
IYKYK.

Since this is a law blog, I refer legal researchers to the seminal case of People v Scott, 578 P.2d 123 (Cal. 1978)

Housing is definitely out of control in this country, not just Vegas. It’s not normal to buy a piece of property and expect to it to triple in value in the span of a few years, but that’s exactly what happening.

“ethics in Nevada is hard: Nevada legislators with rental properties voted against legislation helping tenants”

So, you’re saying that it is completely unethical to not vote the way you want them to?
