Jane Ann Morrison discovers fewer students are enrolling in law school and finds out how that impacts Boyd School of Law. Also, as far as they know, she and Dean Dan Hamilton are only aware of two felonious Boyd grads. [RJ]

Plea deal rejected in the Tammy Myers case and a jury will get to see/hear Nowsch’s taped confession. [RJ]
Uber and Lyft drivers are still battling with Clark County and currently getting citations for picking up/dropping off at the airport. [Fox5Vegas]
The best argument (and possibly only) that can be made for Boyd is this: It allows Nevada residents wanting to attend law school to avoid having to go to California and pay much higher tuition and cost of living at places like McGeorge, Cal Western, Golden Gate, Southwestern, Whittier, etc. Boyd doesn't compete for the same students that are being admitted at UCLA, Boalt, and Hastings. So those few Nevada residents who end up at Boyd are really the only non-employee beneficiaries of the expensive law school at UNLV. Good for them. If Boyd were to just simply shut down, it would save the state a lot of money. This nonsense about ROI based on legal services to the downtrodden is mostly trumped up by the high-paid academics who have a vested interest in keeping the place open and their considerable salary/benefit packages flowing.
Nevada survived quite well before Boyd and would be just fine without it. It's an expensive toy for the higher education community at a time when the state can use some budget relief.

Boyd's budget is a drain on the University and the State. The Legislature was sold a "bill of goods" when Boyd was pushed through the Legislature. Boyd claimed to have all these pledges, donations,
and monies that would support when it was just a gimmick. The only thing Boyd did was to flood the local legal market. It would have been cheaper to send students to neighboring states and schools with scholarships or grants like they did previously with the WICHIE program. I am afraid the State is being sold another expensive bill of goods with the medical school during the time a private osteopathic college has been opening and the state has a medical school in Reno. More bureaucracy and higher taxes. When will it end.

I'm glad that Uber and Lift are in Vegas. As most locals know, cab companies really don't look to service the local community. As for the airport, I see the argument that uber/lift should have to pay a fee for picking up people from the airport, since the airport generates the income, but I don't really see how it justifies dropping people off. Having waited 45 – 60 minutes for a taxi for a ride to the airport, and deciding to drive and park myself, I'm just happy to have a quick ride to the airport.

If you enjoy dealing with Boyd graduates, check out Stacy Rocheleau's little office behind UMC Hospital. Perhaps disbarred lawyer Eric Siegler is more your speed, as California's failure to prosecute him is Nevada' gift to you. Now a "Law Clerk," he can provide legal advice he isn't qualified to give.
To be fair, the paralegals in that office commit unauthorized practice of law daily and laugh about it. They know more than the lone Boyd graduate in the office, who is clueless.
Is Equal Rights for Divorced Fathers still involved in UPL. Heard Director retired and office is now owned by Attorney Kurt Harris. All clients are interviewed by paralegals/typist paperwork is not reviewed or signed off. No Attorney supervision. Paralegals are not certified by Secretary Of State and are not employees of Attorney but private contractors that work in the office to prepare papers …Ghost Writers

You write like a Boyd grad! (I kid, I kid).
Circa 2011-2013.

You okay? You have a cough?
I snore when I read your legal briefs. Absolute garbage.
Come one, we have to Boyd around so the "prodigy" of a Mr. Susan Johnson can be admitted.

And the state bar does nothing.
Paralegals are allowed to practice law in Nevada. So long as they are registered. Does this involve the board of governors?
@4:11,
Umm… no. Just.. no. I don't care what the adjunct professor at your CSN Paralegal certificate course said, you don't get to practice law.
Plenty of clowns from Boyd, but every law school has its share of clowns.
That is a fact, sir.
