The point is exactly that – the travel time. Only an hour each way to Lee Canyon, and Lee Canyon is Pacific time zone. (And if you are thinking of skiing Brian Head, consider Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff instead. The terrain is 10X better than Brian Head.)
I drove to Brianhead once, it snowed all the way there. Treacherous conditions. Arrived, had to lug stuff up to a 3 story condo. Turns out the place has no restaurants. Dullest weekend of my life. No thanks,
I agree the skiing is better in Tahoe, Mt. Rose, SLC, Park City, and Snowbowl than it is at Lee. But when you only have a day, and Lee has fresh snow, you can’t beat that. Also, when is the last time you made the drive into the Cottonwood Canyons? Its a major cluster/time suck. Exponentially worse than the drive up to Lee.
“Lawsuit filed after Nevada prisoner’s death, toe amputation.” Article claims the ex-wife and children filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Since when do ex-wives have standing to sue for wrongful death in Nevada? Maybe she sued but only as administrator of the estate of the decedent?

60 minute flight to Reno or SAC. 45 minutes Reno to South Lake Tahoe; 100 minutes Sacramento to South Lake. That is skiing
50 minute flight to SLC. 45 minutes and you into the Canyons.
