We were forwarded the information below about two local attorneys who need your help:
Many of you know Timothy Geswein and Shemilly Briscoe, two Southern Nevada attorneys who
met in law school at Boyd. Since graduation in 2006, they’ve married and had two wonderful children. If you’ve so much as met Tim or Shem, then you know that they are two of the most genuine and caring folks around. That’s why they have so many dear friends.
Unfortunately, around the turn of the new year, Tim became quite ill and acquired a pancreatic
infection that caused his body to become septic. He’s been battling for months while Shem holds things
together with the boys and her legal practice. What is now almost four months of intensive care in two
different hospitals has driven their medical and other expenses sky‐high. Dire times like these call for
help from friends. Every little bit matters, so, if you are willing to contribute financially, there are two
ways. First, you can donate to a PayPal account set up to assist the family during this battle; just enter
this e‐mail address on the PayPal website: TimGesweinFundraiser@gmail.com. Second, you can send
checks directly to Shemilly at her office: The Briscoe Law Group, 1060 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, NV 89074.
Thank you and please keep Tim, Shem, and the boys in your thoughts and prayers. If you have
any questions, please contact Justin Carley at Snell & Wilmer, 3883 Howard Hughes Parkway, Suite 1100
Las Vegas, NV 89169, Tel. # (702) 784‐5250.
I'm glad somebody is doing this. I don't know Tim, but I recently had a case against Shemilly and she was a very kind and decent opponent. If every opposing attorney was as good to work with as Shemilly, Las Vegas would be a much more pleasant place to practice law.
I wish them the best and I hope Tim recovers quickly from his illness.
I second your opinion. Shemilly is a very nice person, which is exceptionally rare in this profession.
I will pray for her and her family through this tumultuous time.
Or, perhaps, just an idea, you could do something useful! Donation maybe?
Prayer > money
LOL. Nice one.
I know Shemilly and over the past few months I have had the opportunity to receive information periodically on Tim's condition. I have to say that I have been entranced by her ability to adapt and make even the grimmest of family times seem like simply a thing that she & Tim together will conquer. I cannot imagine enduring what she has been through and I think it shows a great amount of character on her part. Best of wishes to the entire family! It's a long road.
Shem is wonderful and I've also met Tim a few times who is also top notch. Your family is my prayers. And before someone makes another stupid remark, effectively reminding us of why Shem is a unique colleague who raises the rhetoric in our practice, I also donated financially to the Paypal account.
I am also glad someone is doing this and whoever you are — thank you!!!! Shemilly is the best – both professionally and as an individual. Tim is a fighter — with Shemilly always by his side, I have no doubt the two will be even stronger than before (if that is even possible). Way to go guys and the rest of us …common, give up those few cups of Starbucks we all seem to drink each day and help. NOW!
