The Bellisario article tells you everything that you need know about OBC. They are moving for disbarment not because he stole money, not because he abused the court system, not because he committed multiple violent crimes. Those violations affect third parties. They could have brought discipline on those issues years ago and interdicted his slide and prevented harm to clients. No, they are moving for disbarment because "Bellisario never responded to the bar’s repeated correspondence about its investigation, records state. That my friends is the biggest crime to the OBC and has been since Stan the Hun became Hardesty's henchman– you ignored us and hurt our feelings.

The State Bar has no differentiation between who are the bad guys and who can we pop easily to put a head on our walls.

I 100% agree and even though he is probably not the best case to make your example (not very sympathetic), it is true just the same. For a better example, if you want to see criminal complaints, arrests, etc. look at Alex Ghiraboudo (sp?), but I guess he always answers his grievances haha

That is an excellent example of what 10:28 was talking about. I actually was talking to a relatively prominent Family Law attorney (who I would have thought had clout with the Bar) about a grievance against ABG and apparently the State Bar has stated to him that you can file a grievance but they will just shove it in their file with all of the other ones so I did not waste the time and paper. Makes me laugh about my duty to report.

Brad is an innocent martyr. His ex-wife set him up. He's also an incredible father and mentor.

So you dealt with her NOT as a Federal Judge which makes me believe that you had Peggy Leen as a mediator. Peggy has always been fair; respectful is not a term that I would have used for her on the bench but she has become much more respectful now that she is a candidate for your mediation dollar.

Going down memory lane. Old lawyer here who was just thinking about the days of going to Alpine Village over by the Convention Center. Countless dinners there – great food. 7 courses. Downstairs had the peanuts on the floors with music and beer!. Any old-timers out there remember those days. Man, I miss that! Most of the friends/lawyers I went there with are gone now. Wow, life goes so fast. Take some time out today young friends and do something important with your family and those you love and worry a little less about non-meaningful things.

Ah yes, the Rathskeller! A bowl of soup. A loaf of brown bread. Tables with bowls of peanuts and peanut shells all over the floor. German folk music and a generally raucous time. Unlikely anything similar could happen these days with health codes and OSHA. Loved the food upstairs too but preferred the basement!

I still make the cottage cheese dip they used to give you. It is great. I have made the soup as well, but it is much more labor intensive.

Growing up, we had a stash of several bottles of the Alpine Village Cottage Cheese Seasoning for many years until I was in my 20s.I believe that we ran out some time in the late 90s.

Oh man I remember mixing that Cottage Cheese dip and taking it to the movies over by the Boulevard Mall. I think that movie theater has long since closed.

Oh, I miss the Alpine Village. So many birthdays, anniversaries, and I went there for prom. Thanks for the memories

Here's the recipe for the cottage cheese dip:

2 lbs cottage cheese, small curd
1⁄2 teaspoon caraway seed
1 1⁄2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon Accent seasoning
1⁄2 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon dried chives
1⁄2 teaspoon celery salt

Mix all ingredients together and chill for several hours or overnight.
Serve as a condiment or as a dip with veggie sticks.

Chip Lightman was listed as the "owner" at one time and then John Isaacs but I recall it was a consortium of lawyers. I thought Bucky had a piece of it.

Can we talk about this gun policy in Pahrump? That's insane. Bad enough we let judges and prosecutors have guns.

Judge Linda Bell is running for Hardesty's soon-to-be-open seat. I've liked her during the hearings and trials I've had in front of her the past years. Good luck! https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/local-nevada/district-judge-linda-bell-announces-bid-for-nevada-supreme-court-2516365/

Agree. We get a justice with a history in practice of appellate writing and we are rid of the biggest scourge on the court in decades.

I don't know Judge Bell, but I have good reason (which I will not extrapolate on) to believe she is a decent person. I also realize there will be the usual chorus of people who argue only knowledge and application of the law matter, but holy shit I am sick of rude, nasty judges. You can do the job without being a utter prick. She has my support.

The idea that guns should be allowed in a courthouse is insane. Anybody who has dealt with family law or criminal law knows that there are extremely intense situations between family members, business associates, drug addicts, and just people who are at the end of their rope all actively fighting against each other for not just money and property, but their own liberty or the right to see their children. And each one ends with a winner and a loser. The people hearing a judge or jury's decision need time to cool off before having access to a friggin gun to shoot the opposing party or the judge.
