Ok, but maybe they could work on getting hearings set in a reasonable amount of time?

Bro, try asking again after Christmas. Maybe I'll get around to it by then.

Anyone have a good service they would recommend that can get though a windows 7 log in password? Client brought us in his computer so that we could pull what we needed for discovery and he can't remember the password to log in. We have tried a few different online tricks (booting up in safe mode, etc) and none have worked. Any ideas or recommendations for someone that can get us in? thanks.

Can you give a call to someplace like Halo discovery? I thought they do forensic type work? If so, that could mean they have a computer expert in their company. Or even Geek Squad?

Going off very old vague memories, but.. booting the computer under Unix/Linex OS would bypass Windows OS yet give access to the hard drive data. You might want to check with a computer pro to see if that would solve your problem.

I have a guy that pulled off 20 years of digital family photos off of 4 laptops. None of which I had passwords for. Windows Vista through 8. Any IT guy worth his salt can do it.

Lazesoft Password Recovery. It's a free program. Make sure you download the right one, and then flash it to a USB drive for booting. Works like a champ.

WARNING – before you have anyone try to change the password or clear the password, make sure you do a full image of the hard drive to protect against the worst – something you try that corrupts the registry and makes the computer unusable.
