Re Sunrise Hospital: Knock me over with a butterfly cough. Anyone ever see any of their bills? The powers that be at Sunrise should be ashamed of themselves.

Kudos to the mob, Las Vegas was a city that was well run and no tourist were getting shot on the strip. Mob influence is not much different than the big corp influence in Nevada, as expressed below by 11:13.
Who in the Nevada Legislature gets the gaming industry money?
Answer is virtually all of them, although some attract a lot more gaming money than others. And since virtually all of them receive gaming money, the question should really be which ones are receiving a staggering, inordinate amount of money.
When I say "virtually" all of them receive gaming money, the reason there are a few exceptions is that there are always a few legislators who get on the wrong side of the gaming industry(e.g. failing to back a legislative proposal that benefits the gaming industry, etc.)
And when such legislators run for re-election, they find out just how strong the grudge is when they receive a campaign opponent largely financed by the gaming community.
And then, to add insult to injury, the opponent, who is a bought and paid for puppet of the gaming industry, runs a campaign based on being a fighter for the little people, and being committed to protect them from callous, corporate exploitation.
There was this kid I grew up with – he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me – you know – before I took the Bar, we ran molasses into Canada – made a fortune – your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him – and trusted him. Later on he had an idea – to build a hospital in a desert stop-over for GI's on the way to the West Coast. That kid's name was Moe Green – And there isn't even a plaque – or a signpost – or a statue of him in that town!
