yup and remember wrong doesn't matter on the essays. It's pure issue spotting. So jot down whatever issues you think you see rather than work one to death to avoid the ones you don't know how to resolve.

Here's the health care solution: Medicare for everyone with mandatory deductibles based on income. Single payer now. Rich people (pretty much everyone reading this) can buy supplemental insurance so they don't have to wait in "as long" a line as the citizenry.
More tax on people making over $1M / year. More estate tax for estates over $3M. Legalize MJ and gambling nationally and tax it to fund health.
The solution is permitting insurance to be sold with unlimited coverage options. Then people can just pay to cover things that can be properly "insured," i.e., accidents and serious diseases that can't be predicted. The premiums will be minuscule compared to today. Just like auto insurance. Requiring medical coverage to include things that are the equivalent of oil changes and custom modifications—of course premiums will keep rising, because people will keep using the "insurance" on things that are expected maintenance costs and/or elective. Even with a provision outlawing pre-existing condition bans, the math will work out way better if you don't force people to pay "insurance" premiums for things that are not properly insurable.

California looked into "medicaid for every Californian" and quickly concluded that it would cost 120 per cent of their budget for one item–health care. So they scrapped it. 2:22 PM – And yet that approach works (or something like it) in pretty much every other western nation where, as a whole, they have better outcomes, lower costs, and an overall better quality of life (seriously do some research and look how lowly the USA rates in overall quality of life compared to other nations). While you can find some exceptions, if you spoke to people from those countries you would find almost no one who would trade what they have for what we have.

We are melting pot with a large population and many health problems due to lifestyle choices. We should only be compared to other countries with similar population levels and diversity. Furthermore, we spend so much money on national defense there is just no way to pay for a national health care system (medicare for everyone) without substantially cutting our defense budget and raising taxes substantially. Even if we were to cut the military budget to zero, that will not fix our problems with deficits and health care. Eventually, Social Security, Medicare, and the interest on our debt will take up the entire budget. Right now those three represent 70% of the $3.8 trillion budget.
There are countries that are wealthier (per capita) than the U.S. like Switzerland or Sweden. If you have a population that is 8 to 9.9 million and your country has cash reserves, you can afford socialized medicine. The U.S. has 20 trillion in national debt. We simply can't afford it no more than California can afford "Medicaid or Medi-Cal" for everyone.
Oh please. Sweden is far, far more diverse than the US. It has ethnic groups and tribes that date back millennia, and which have much less in common with each other than a black guy and a a white guy from different sides of the tracks in Chicago.

The young woman sure knows how to stir controversy and attract publicity. But she has not yet reached a point wherein she is a significant enough media figure for an attorney to agree to represent her for little or no money merely to gain the exposure.
But the more stories and coverage there are on her, the closer she will get to the point where someone competent may represent her for free just to gain some media exposure and recognition of their own.

There is no great publicity in representing another attorney for free. There is no great publicity in representing almost any criminal defendant for free. Get paid.

Ha, so you're paying taxes to have this "single payer" healthcare system, but in order to have any actual healthcare, you have to pay for supplemental coverage. Yeah, that sounds like a great idea.
Sounds like the public school system in the USA, the poor and middle class kids get a mediocre education in public schools, while the rich kids obtain an outstanding education and priceless opportunities at private schools.
Since the government has done such a good job for the K-12 education, lets let them run our healthcare as well.
