A defendant in a federal marijuana case was acquitted yesterday, but didn’t show up for the verdict. [RJ]
Some nameless judge dismissed a suit against state senator Heidi Gansert. [RJ]
The RJ’s new state courts reporter is @Rachelacrosby. Other than letting her know to make sure and include judges’ names, do you have any tips for her?
German can sit in traffic as far as I am concerned. Hopefully he gets the full Sheldon treatment.

Include Judge's name. Include my name. Understand what is actually going on in the proceedings.

Ask the RJ to add a recaptcha on each article and on the main page of its mobile website. That way I can select the squares with cars, then roads, then cars, then roads, then cars again, before a massive slow-to-ever load full page pop up ad obscures every single page link in the RJ.
Because JUST having a slow-to-ever load full page pop up ad on the main page and every single article is some weak sauce, mang. Weak sauce.
As compared to the Sun's site where they demand you whitelist them so they can infect you with malware? Screw that. Adblockers for the RJ, the refresh/stop button for the Sun, and uninterrupted reading for the Independent.

This explains a lot, along with the fact that as recently as August of 2016 72% of registered republicans still have doubts about Obama's citizenship. The hell with facts.

Rachel- please, include the attorney's names who are on each side of a dispute. It takes no extra effort and is much appreciated by their peers. It's interesting to know who is doing what.
Also, as a general comment, it's always a good idea to run your understanding of the judge's ruling by a friendly attorney before going to print. Good Luck!

Rachel,
This is the Cliff's Notes version of a Civil Procedure text book:
It will be well worth you time to buy it and spend time with it. You'll get a better understanding for what's happening and won't have to rely on "friendly" attorneys to filter the information for you.
Too many court reporters never learn or understand the basics of procedure and it shows in their writing.
You silly civil attorneys, they only report on Eglet's cases, the rest of you are inconsequential.

On a different note, although just as interesting, anyone know where I can find the Judge Scotti meltdown thread? I'm late to the party but very interested.
@July 26, 2017 at 4:02 PM – There isn't a link to the meltdown on this blog, but some of the story is under Stay Weird Austin, June 2017. If you know any of the clerks in DC they'll give you the whole story.
I don’t have an audio or visual clip to post, or cliff notes for that matter, but here’s the deal for those who are late to the party. Judge Scotti, who has been known to behave like a cantankerous toddler on the bench, repeatedly scolded and berated his clerk in open court with a witness on the stand and a jury in the box due to the clerk “crackling” paper while she was marking some exhibits. At one point, he even ordered her to stop and put her hands out to her side. Clerk quit mid trial. Word from several clerks is he was strong-armed by a few judges into apologizing to his former clerk, which he chose to do in open court. He then made the unfortunate decision to apologize by first blaming the clerk for his behavior. Scotti is now persona non grata in the clerk’s office.

Please remind me again on how intelligent our judiciary is.
What happened to David Ferrara?
Good riddance regardless.
Here here. Good riddance.
I like David!!! German is the one I would like to see bad things happen to.

9:10 am – amen. I don't even go to the RJ's website anymore because they have rendered it unusable.

That's not true. 72% of us are certain that Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya.

My favorite quote from the meltdown: "You know the rules and so do I!"
The joke's on you… my volume is muted! And I could watch that Astley fellow on mute all day long.
4:04- think you posted the wrong link by mistake. that is a link to a rick astley song.
4:40, that's a joke from 2002. You just got rick rolled.
That joke never gets old.
