With ballots set to start arriving in mailboxes next week, it’s time to talk about the contested judicial races featured on that ballot. We welcome your comments on the qualifications of the candidates as well as any information you can offer to help voters make an educated decision. Just remember to keep your comments appropriate and try to avoid defamation.
For District Court Judge, Department G, the candidates are:
- Childs, Sr., Benjamin Boone
- Forsberg, Rhonda K.
What are your thoughts on the race in this department?
Judge Forsberg is doing a good job on the bench and deserves at least 6 more years on the bench. There is no need for a change in this department.
I have to disagree. She is not good. She is very emotional in her rulings, she cannot control her courtroom, she screams with a very shrill voice, and she is disrespectful to litigants and attorneys. She also holds grudges so if you ever had a contentious case with her as an attorney in the past, she definitely will hold it against you and she'll tax your client. That said, she'll probably win the election. Lucky us.
Never appeared before her as a judge, but based on my dealings with her and seeing her less than judicial temperament as opposing counsel, I cannot vote for Forsberg.
