Family Law/Community Property: Can anyone recommend a good neutral Business Appraiser to use as a JOINT expert? For a small family owned business. Thanks in advance!

The Rouven case is a great example about why you simply cannot risk taking a chance in Federal Court. Russian Roulette with the Feds is fatal.

Yeah. We all feel really bad for that sick sack of shit.

"Roohani seemed to choke back tears as she described 'heart-wrenching screams' and 'whimpering' children suffering rapes on videos found on Rouven’s computers."

I'm sure he'll do well in prison.

That doesn't change the fact that 1205 is right. Its actually reverse Russian Roulette with a 100 chamber revolver and 99 rounds in the slot. The feds win every time.

Smiths is giving up on Visa credit transactions, citing high exchange costs and transaction fees. How do my fellow practitioners feel about the screwing you get from the exchange fees? LawPay charges like 3%, but it's the exchange fees that kill you.

There's not much to be done. Clients like a variety of ways to pay – credit card is great for shifting the burden of collecting payments to someone else. Or does everyone enjoy chasing down monthly payments? As for Smith's no one is dumb enough to think consumers will see any benefit to what they're doing, I use visa and am not going to run debit or cash just to make them happy so I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. Just like your clients will if you don't take a credit card!

I run all my monthly expenses through a credit card for the cash back I receive, which ends up being about $1,500.00 per year. It would also screw up my personal accounting system to use a debit for groceries. I like Smith's, but this is a deal breaker for me. Will probably just do Wal-Mart curbside pickup going forward.

WinCo actually accepts credit cards now. Smiths is taking 5 steps back with this.

Since when? They still have their sign up at the front door bitching about how credit cards are too expensive, but they're okay taking debit cards.

Yeah, they are like Wal-Mart on coupons, too. I wish they had one in nicer area.

I wanted to post this before Harry Reid died, so the Nevada public knows. Harry Reid is the reason all of your houses were illegally foreclosed on. Catherine Cortez Masto wanted to prosecute the banks as AG. Harry Reid called her off. Think about that next time when you support anyone who is affiliated with him. You will pay the piper when you meet God, Harry.

Unless I missed the announcement, it looks like Brenda Weksler is our first of three new magistrate judges. There was a term law clerk post the other day…that referenced that she was the incoming magistrate judge.
