I 100% agree with Planned Parenthood. The girls who seek abortions without a parent involved are girls who have horrendous relationships with their parents. The vast majority of girls in a situation where they need an abortion will go to their parents first because their parents are the safe place to go. Girls who have been abused by their parents can’t. And we now know that all too often, fathers can be abusive. DNA records from 23 and me show that incest is far more prevalent than once thought.
“In 1975, around the time of Steve’s birth, a psychiatric textbook put the frequency of incest at one in a million.
But this number is almost certainly a dramatic underestimate. The stigma around openly discussing incest, which often involves child sexual abuse, has long made the subject difficult to study. In the 1980s, feminist scholars argued, based on the testimonies of victims, that incest was far more common than recognized, and in recent years, DNA has offered a new kind of biological proof. Widespread genetic testing is uncovering case after secret case of children born to close biological relatives—providing an unprecedented accounting of incest in modern society.”
There are more statistics from a different article posted below. This article goes on to say, “The geneticist Jim Wilson, at the University of Edinburgh, was shocked by the frequency he found in the U.K. Biobank, an anonymized research database: One in 7,000 people, according to his unpublished analysis, was born to parents who were first-degree relatives—a brother and a sister or a parent and a child.” If this number is true for the United States, and specifically Clark County, there are around 250 people in this valley who were born as a result of incest and sexual abuse.
If the population of Clark County is 2.337 million, then there would be closer to 500 people in this valley born as a result of incest and sexual abuse.
It is so sad to think about a poor girl in the terrible position of needing an abortion and not trusting her parents. What a despicable bill to have on the books in the first place. Great work to Planned Parenthood here.
Sounds good, feels right, let’s make it law.
No, taking down all of the guardrails and ignoring parents, is wrong. Next you will want to cede all parental rights to the government.
As I read the article, parents are only required to be notified. A minor will still be able to go to court and get an abortion.
Are you allergic to facts? The reason girls in this situation don’t seek out their parents’ help is because their parents are violent and abusive. Forcing a girl to cary a baby to term when she is the victim of violence and abuse is particularly cruel.
I had a friend who got pregnant at 16. Told her parents. Her father beat her to a pulp and she was put in foster care. The father later went to prison for DUI’s and beating up her mother. There are actually people out there who do these things.
As a family law attorney, I would say that the majority of my clients about 70% + did not want to get pregnant and more men did not want to be fathers. Yes, the child started off as an unplanned pregnancy, I saw unwanted, be real. Prior to this job, I believed that life was unique and special. Not so much, anyone can have a baby. The litigants in family court more often than not admit out loud and in writing that they cannot stand the other parent. I sometimes drive home thinking that neither parent should have the child. Yes, after a rough day in the slums of family law, I am not just pro-choice, I am pro abortion.
“Most minors do consult their parents before seeking abortion care. Nonetheless, many teens live in dysfunctional family environments, and parental involvement laws cannot transform these families into stable homes nor facilitate productive communications. Forcing teens to involve parents in these circumstances puts them at particular risk of violence.
One in five pregnant minors have experienced physical abuse by a parent or other caretaker; thirty percent of teens who do not tell their parents about their abortions feared violence or being forced to leave home.
One in ten pregnant minors have experienced sexual violence and 10.29 percent experienced physical abuse in intimate relationships; just 15 of the 37 states with parental involvement laws provide exceptions for minors who are victims of sexual and physical assault, incest or neglect.”
Many mainline protestant denominations remain pro-choice. Don’t invoke God in the name of repressing women. Zygotes and fetuses are not babies. Abortion isn’t murder.
Abortion is murder. This is a universal truth, and as previously stated no amount of Reddit tier logic like you just demonstrated will change that fact.
If only there were a way for women not to have unwanted pregnancies? Hmm, personal responsibility maybe?
At least I can admit my shortcoming that I am not willing to raise one of these unwanted children. Murder–ha. Abortion is between the individual, their medical care provider, and the God of their choosing. Abortion is legal. Anyone else’s abortion besides my own is none of my business.
Parental Notification Laws — Brought to you by the same political party that believes in ghostfathers in the sky, that opposes the reality of global warming, that cuts aid to the poor around the world while giving tax cuts to billionaires, that opposes unions, and that wrecked our federal government. I could go on. Wake up, sleepyhead, wake up!
Cry harder sis. . . . . . because your party ran the govt with intelligence and honor.

A DC odyssey tip: on the “guess the bucket/bed/hat” challenge we are now forced to perform before we login, it’s always five. In other words, if you’ve guessed that 4 of the 9 pictures are buckets and one looks close but not quite like a bucket, pick it anyways because it is always 5 of the 9 pictures.
Lol at you evil feminazi monsters who love censorship and jackbooted power grabs. Now that we know 2016 was rigged, russiagate was a scam and 2020 stolen, maybe that explains the demographic change to the EJDC bench over the last two elections. Thwack this motherfucker.
may the fake upvoting commence
10:37 how do you figure upvoting is “fake”?
Use of a VPN allows fake upvoting. Just change the servers between votes.
I’m trying to picture someone who would go through all the trouble to do that and my mind just can’t comprehend anyone that pathetic. If you care that much about the up and down arrows on this dumb blog…
Some browsers have them integrated and its a click or two. Not difficult.
LOL. Sounds like your comments didn’t get the response you wanted so you are accusing others of what you do.
I did test it out on a free trial once when I suspected it was done to one of my posts.
I no longer have the VPN and am not paying $9.99 a month.
Just telling y’all what I have learned.
If people are paying $9.99/month to upvote comments on this dumb blog, the owners may want to get in on that gravy train.
You have way too much free time on your hands and obviously care way too much about upvotes. Normal people don’t give a crap. If I had this available for free and could do it with a single click of the mouse, I wouldn’t do it because who GAF
The fact that you think you are replying to the original poster, just shows how oblivious some people can be.
Please, for the love of God, will someone fix the layout of this website?
Looks fine to me?
it’s riddiculous!
Absolutely. For crying out loud. It looks like AI put it together from chat gpt…

LMAO@U.
Citing 23&Me as a source and no real data. But hey, I am glad that you agree with PP and its policies.

Sounds less “data” and more conclusory interpretation and outright speculation.
Hardly anything to hang your hat on.

That would not surprise me at all.

You can’t ignore the data.

And going to court to get an abortion is so onerous it’s laughable to think that is a solution.

Abortion is murder. No amount of liberal arts education, Marxist rhetoric, copium, or seething will ever change that fact.
Criminalize all abortion now, that is the only ethical solution.
It’s well documented that the Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice until the late 1970’s. https://goodfaithmedia.org/was-the-southern-baptist-convention-ever-pro-choice/

Blah blah blah
Powerful words.
I don’t care what the southern baptists believed.

Spoken like someone who has given exactly 3 minutes of time to contemplate their position on this topic.

Still life, still murder.
Your weaponized feminism would make your ancestors repulsed. The very point of our existence on this planet is to reproduce.
Then go reproduce with yourself.
“Go reproduce yourself” is the new “go f*#* yourself.”

@2:57 I hope they/them see this bro and give you a crumb of that they/themussy
That’s your religious belief. Has no legal bearing.

I keep failing these tests and have started to doubt that I am human.
What time is it? Let me check my curtains.
THERE!

Is a bucket hat both?
Is a folded up futon a bed?

Is it weird, sad or expected the Supreme Court has not issued a published decision for the entire month of July.
With this court that is good news.
