ABA just announced elimination of the LSAT requirement for law schools in the name of equity/diversity. Thoughts?
Why not just admit anyone with a GED then.
That's how I got into Boyd.
If you challenge any policy that invokes diversity, you are racist.
My first thought: The United States government should immediately and completely end the federal guaranty on all student loans. Let banks underwrite loans – that's the business they're in. If lending a money to a student makes sense and there is a reasonable likelihood that the loan will be repaid, make the loan. If there is little chance the loan will ever be repaid, don't make the loan. It works for mortgages, car loans, and credit cards; why shouldn't it work for student loans.
Planning to end the FHA, too?
Look, the federal government doesn't guarantee student loans because it thinks it's fun, or a great money maker. It invests in student loans because, like affordable home ownership, a better-educated populace is seen as good idea and a wise investment in the nation's future.
Agree with 11:53
Student loans may foster better education, but if government is involved, just like the FHA, there should be a borrower skin in the game (think down payment) and amount limits.
The real problem is that colleges charge whatever they hell they want; there is no federal oversight such as comparison pricing.
You are all racist.
1207, how is an FHA in any way comparable to student loans? There are consequences for not paying a mortgage, foreclosure. What is the consequence of not paying a student loan? Right now, literally none. And likely to stay none for an unfortunate amount of time.

These shitbag deans and administrators are so disingenuous. A few years ago, law school applications PLUMMETED. The only thing keeping deans from admitting a tsunami of unqualified applicants (in order to keep the revenue flowing) was the LSAT. Now, they are getting rid of this barrier to unlimited revenue by invoking "diversity, equity and inclusion." What a fucking fraud these people are.
NVSC should yank or amend SCR 51(1)(c) to impose a minimum 150 LSAT score (taken before law school begins) to be admitted to practice in Nevada.
Agreed. Additionally, since the law schools are all about making money and not caring what happens to the law school graduate afterwards, they will end up admitting anything with a pulse, like they do with all of the night schools (matchbox schools) in the State of California. It stopped being a legit profession a few decades ago.
Been watching the world cup. Entertaining. Seeing a lot of this during it. Also entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQWj9G0H6mw
