OK, if you say so. I would guess that most people in Clark County don't give a shit about UNR, but we can feign UNR pride if that makes you feel better. Go wolfpack!

Seriously, the butt-kissing insiders, tone-deaf status-seekers and nanny-state toadies we've had on the board, especially the past two years need to be ousted and replaced with governors who will fight bar overreach; financial non-transparency, and abusive mission creep. What we really need is a non-compulsory membership bar association.

Could not agree with you more 1:24. Any candidate better be ready to tell me how they are ready to (1) push back against the NSC and make OBC accountable to the BoG (rather than vice versa); (2) halt the skyrocketing fees and increasing abusiveness from the SBN; (3) make Farmer really justify the job she has been doing and how the State Bar is serving average practitioners better than it did 10 years ago.

Those of us with multiple state admissions know what the rest do not: it is possible to have a state bar that serves lawyers and is actually useful. I wanted you all to know it is possible – start with the BOG.

3:19 is exactly correct. I can tell you that the State Bar of Nevada is a laughing stock to other states.

Do you think the BoG knows or cares how angry the masses are? Do you think they care?

They should care. It is their careers. They owe a responsibility to the members. Your indifference and power trips are the exact reason why you jerks need to be voted the hello out.

Does anyone know a BOG member? Have you shared this site or any similar feelings with them? I haven't yet, but maybe I will.

Is the NV Bar board of governors paid? Is their annual trip to [Hawaii, Austin, Chicago, etc] for annual meeting only compensation they get for their services?

I couldn't find anything that said for sure. I could barely find the bylaws, but thanks to google https://www.nvbar.org/our-bylaws/ looks like they are permitted to hold the annual meeting within or without the state and can be reimbursed for travel and a double occupancy room rate. The bylaws are interesting. There is a specific guideline for how the bog deals with complaints against bar counsel. Also, looks like they charge people running for BOG $25 to get the email list of all members so you can email them (but you can only use the list one time).

They keep expenses secret. These asshats take our compulsory dues and do whatever the hell they want without telling us anything. No one knows how much they pay management or what those out-of-state boondoggles cost the members. Vote the lot of them out!

By the way, if I say that I am going to run for BoG and they give me the list, what stops me from using it more than one time to demand action from the BoG and accountability?

@5:15– I used to be an insider, ass-kisser that was being directed to run for BoG. Yes it was a sycophantic parade of "Well if you are a good little girl/boy, you can be part of our club but you have to not make waves."

Looking at the BOG roster (because I couldn't name a single one) just now, it doesn't seem like a particularly impressive lot… there's at least one unapologetic drunk. So, why are these folks in charge of the Office of Bar Counsel?

If people in the PD's Office honestly talk with the investigators, Kohn's toast. There are many, many tales to be told. He's been inappropriate for years and has not fostered loyalty. I predict a quick resignation.
