A friend has asked for a referral to a seasoned employment attorney to handle a federal case against a law enforcement agency. It likely will be a newsworthy matter. Adam Levine perhaps? Other suggestions are welcome.

Any of the above. I think Levine and Marks used to work together on cases. Not sure if they were actually partners or not, but that seemed to be a good combo.

Interesting that the media keeps neglecting to mention that Jones & LoBello were representing Ashley, including the motion that was filed that same morning. Dennis was only covering the depo.

Dennis was co-counsel. I wonder if the outcome would have been different if John or Michele had appeared that morning instead of Dennis.

Tough shit. If you are getting drowned, you are literally in over your head, kid or not. GTFO of the case, you aren’t doing anyone any favors!

That’s the comment you thought contributed to this conversation? It’s pretty clear this wasn’t a run of the mill case and it’s equally clear that things went terribly wrong in this case.

Hard to blame Jones for pouring gas on the fire when the vast majority of family practitioners do the exact same thing in contested cases.

You mean you wonder if Dennis wouldn’t have been killed if he weren’t there? Probably a pretty sound assumption.

Question about how family court works. Does the court set a calendar call like in civil cases? I’m just trying to imagine how its kept confidential. Does the judge only allow one case at a time in the courtroom? I’m just thinking of all the times I had to sit in the 8th JD for 2 hours listening to all the other cases before mine was called.

Calendar calls are set for trials in family court. If cases are sealed, the marshal usually clears the courtroom in advance and brings everyone back in after. On Zoom, sealed cases are heard in private breakout rooms.

Nice enough person. No business being on the bench in my opinion. Hope it isn’t a health issue or anything like that.

I resented how she demanded that attorneys appear in person in her courtroom while she sat at home talking to us from her living room.

Any idea what orders came down in the Houston hearing today? Did the judge allow the media in?

With Ashley Prince dead, how does the family court continue to have jurisdiction? Can a family law practitioner explain?

What should happen is the current case should close. Then, a guardianship petition should be filed.

Why a guardianship if one parent is still alive? Clearly, I don’t handle family law, but can’t grandparents or others seek custody or is that deemed a guardianship?

Its a guardianship (probably temporary for now). Dylan will contest it and will likely get supervised visits at before May is out.

But, if he is found to have known anything about it, even peripherally, he is done.

Hearing was lead story on Channel 5 just now, but I didn’t have any volume. Chyron that the Houston side wants to restrict media access. I say absolutely not.

Dylan is getting supervised visitation once he surrenders his firearms. Kids remain with Lexie for now. The baby is in the custody of family friends, but I believe there is a guardianship hearing tomorrow regarding how long she will remain in their care.

I think what people are missing is that the stipulated guardianship and supervised visitation is in lieu of CPS intervening and taking this case that direction (which could have huge ramifications for Dylan). Dylan wants to keep CPS out of this matter.
Your dad just murdered your ex-wife after you said that you want to see her in a coffin. You need to appear rational and reasonable under the circumstances. I am not sure Jerry Hardcastle is who I would have retained other than he is probably a family friend who could step in quickly. The other thought could be that Hardcastle could push Henderson around.

Can we as a community send a delegation to the various media outlets to explain the difference between a “deposition” and a “hearing?”

Hardcastle and Joe Houston were old friends. So Dylan and Hardcastle are now a team. A charming duo.

Who is going to verify the surrender of Dylan’s firearms? Another member of Joe Houston’s family?

@6:21 you clearly do not know family law or family court. Go read Troxell. Just because Ashley’s family and attorneys are slamming him in the press doesn’t mean he loses his children. Also, while we’re talking DV, go check Ashley’s record. There’s plenty of bitterness to go around in this case. Those children should be with their father.

I clearly do. In Troxell the mother who was living did not have Dylan’s issues of substance abuse, alcoholism and domestic violence. Her father had not just murdered her ex husband.

So comments insulting Hardcastle and Dylan are ok, but no discussion of Ashley’s history of DV or discussion of the reputation of her attorneys in the community? I get the thwackage motivation, but this is silly.

He once locked up a mother bc she was supposed to deliver child for visitation. She had accident that required short visit to ER during that time. She brought child next day and proof of ER visit. He smart assedly said “all I can do is enforce orders” thanks dude from Les miz whose name I forget.
