Patrick Driscoll lost his 5 year old girl to the flu this week. Terribly tragedy, wish him and his family the best.

Some friends of the family have set up a fund to help the family with the medical and funeral costs. Nobody should have to go through losing a child and my heart is broken for them.
Here is the link to the fundraiser if you feel like donating:

Where can we find the Court of Appeals decisions? It doesn't even look like the COA has it's own website yet.

I am sorry for his loss.

What I don't understand is fundraising for a child's funeral. It seems to be all too common and getting more so. If I lost my child, I would not expect others to pay funeral expenses.

Was there a fund set up for the loss of John Shook's son?

Wow 11:43! I had a colleague who lost his wife once. She was a stay at home mom and had never worked so they always assumed they would not need life insurance on her. When she passed he was overwhelmed by expenses. It costs a lot more than you think. It also says it was friends who set up the fund – not the family. Community members who aren't close to the family might look for a way to express their condolences or help the family without imposing. A fundraising site does just that. There but for the grace of God go I…

I don't think the issue is that the Driscolls are expecting people to raise funds for the funeral because I know that they weren't the ones who set it up. I think these fundraisers are a way for people to do something nice for somebody when there's not much else that can be done. I'm the same way, I'd never expect others to pay for funeral expenses, but I don't think there's anything wrong with other people doing so just to help out.

My personal condolences to Patrick and his family. Any words I can say are almost meaningless; I couldn't truly imagine what their life must be like now. But I sincerely hope his family knows that others genuinely care.

From the picture in the paper and the obituary this was an enchanting little girl. I am so, so sorry. Think of all the days each of us has been given — this little soul had less than 10% of the time on earth that most of us get.

10:21 AM inquired about locating the Court of Appeals decisions. The decisions (all of which are unpublished thus far) can now be accessed via a new link on the Nevada Supreme Court's website. Here is the hyperlink:

Andrew,

So… what you're telling me is that the CoA, which was intended to take the load off of the Supremes and provide additional guidance to the lower courts by issuing citeable opinions, just dumped 40 cases without a single published opinion? Yeah, this isn't a Court of Appeals at all. It's the Shitwork panel of the Supremes. Same shitty results, just different faces.

What's going on at Gordon Silver? There have been rumblings of a restructuring of this firm, which is known for its bankruptcy-restructuring services.

Didn't they just "restructure" / add a new named partner?

Why would Judge Walsh exclude testimony when she was the trier-of-fact? That just shows how retarded she is.
