What do you think of the Nevada Supreme Court’s new opinion regarding the division of labor between arbitrators and courts in adjudicating arbitration agreements?
I think Judge Israel has Judge Israel fatigue. The first thing the guy does when he gets in his courtroom is his tired groan. The energy level never increases beyond the baseline of down in the mud.
Unless a judge is wholly unprepared or has a question about a specific issue they rarely come to the bench without already having decided the outcome. I appreciate that Judge Hardy frequently states upfront how he is considering ruling so that counsel does not have to present arguments on an issue he has already decided.
It might be news to you, but rarely if ever does your oral argument sway any judge. I would rather know at the outset which way the judge is leaning and I can focus on making my record. Who cares if the judge is not “receptive to my arguments” that go against the judge’s initial comments.
Put on your big girl or big boy pants and suck it up.

I don’t know if a single law firm right now – defense or Plaintiff PI who is not hiring. You have to be more specific, what area of the law, year in, practice field, salary requirements. But yeah, like someone said every one is hiring, just need to pick a good fit for you and the firm.

Someone told me that it was announced at the Business Bench/Bar that there will be a shuffling of cases and perhaps one of the Business Court judges is having their B cases reassigned. Inquiring minds want to know.
I am so glad to hear Judge Gall is going to be doing nothing but civil. She might be our most underrated judge. Efficient, organized, kind, smart and predictable.
There are about 3-5 business cases filed a month. I’m not sure it’s the best use of resources to have two judges do those and nothing else. But that sounds about par for everything cluster F in the EJDC. Was hoping new chief judge would make some changes but it’s going to be pretty status quo and the favorites will be doing even less work it sounds like.
I mean Denton is leaving soon. It would make sense to start transitioning them to someone that is capable rather than having it fall in the lap of the current Dept. 13 candidates.
Judge Israel was aggressively wrong, again. That’s what I think of the arbitration ruling.
When he appears from his long absence just to get it emphatically wrong.
If Judge Israel fatigue is a thing, I have it.
Just a few more months, mi amigo, and Judge Israel is out.

Same for Hardy.
Fake News.
because you disagree? That’s not fake news. Quit using stupid, fake complaints and make a comment of substance.
Many people are saying 3:04 PM has Hardy Derangement Syndrome (HDS).

I think having fatigue would mean that at one point Hardy actually had some energy.
who’s hiring?
Pretty much everyone.

HARDY!
I heard it was Kishner being stripped of her B cases.
All business cases will go to Gall or Hardy who will now hear only business cases (no other civil or criminal cases). Coming in a few months

And she follows the law. A lot of other departments are predictable too, but for all the wrong reasons.

Hardy lost all of his years ago. Needs to happen again but I doubt it. That would require having other capable judges to give them to.
They were stripped from him and then years later they started giving him (and 22) back some so Dept 15 has some B cases at this time.

That would make sense, but instead, they are going to be assigned to Hardy.
re:Arbitration
Ruling is about right, following the federal trend. All such intended to unload the Courts’ dockets.
DID ANYONE FEEL THAT EARTHQUAKE
Reddit sure felt it.
