I know people who received both vaccinations who now have the D variant, some elderly but one only 35 who has already expired.
Are we on are way back to Blue Jeans appearances, Zoom for everything, potential for some sort of shutdown/slowdown?
I am worried too. Nevada and LV especially are among the worst in the nation for increasing COVID numbers.

I need to move to the Free State of Florida. This nonsense will never end. Having found the kind of power the Climate Lie was supposed to give them, the ruling assholes will never relinquish this ring. Venezuela and South Africa are merely a few steps ahead of us. At least in Florida I might be able to live out the rest of my days in peace and freedom.

The funniest part of Florida (and Texas for that matter) is that republican/MAGA policies have created the perfect storm of insanity. They brag about jobs and how businesses are leaving CA to go there, but Florida is a cess pool and Texas is a mess. Florida gets hit with increasingly bad hurricanes year after year, their de-regulation is apparently great for the structural integrity of all those high-rise condos, and their COVID positivity rate is impressive. Texas can't make it through a cold winter or hot summer without blowing up their crap power grid, they're missing half their legislature, and they're restricting more and more voting rights. No one is going to want to live in either of those hellholes in another couple years. Good times. Get vaccinated and mask up! It's Friday. Go home.

Legal staff okay to make an appearance? I am fully vaccinated (Moderna) and wear a mask in public. Usually am the only one. The current spike is towards pre-vaccine numbers in the one month or so since the mask mandate was lifted. Whether the masks work or not seems to be only one part of the reason for the cutrent spike. I assume anti-maskers are also anti-vaxers, anti-washing and anti-social distancing. The spread is being fueled my media talking heads who I bet are all themselves and their loved ones, early vaxers.
But I am all for it. I want to keep working from home. 16 months and countonting baby!
Masks do NOTHING except to allow you breathe in your own filth. NOT doing it.
As for Texas and Florida, 253 and 523, I can promise you that they will be bastions of freedom for many many years to come. But, please perpetuate your opinion to other liberal banner carriers so that they stay away.

I don't understand the opposition to masks. It's such a minor thing we all can do to help stop this. I still wear a mask indoors unless I'm actively eating or drinking. Is it perfect? No. But it does reduce chances of transmission, especially if we all do it. Until we stop politicizing basic public health measures, we're basically f-ed.
Or everyone could just get the damn vaccine. At this point, anyone who wants it, can get it. while it doesn't prevent you from getting COVID, it does prevent it from being so severe. I wish people would just get it so we can put this behind us.
11:22 here. I agree with you. I got the vaccine as soon as I could. I still wear my mask indoors. I know a couple people who can't get vaccinated and young children are still not approved. Masks are a good option and we should all be wearing them indoors and in crowded areas.

Totally agree with 5:00, and the whole moral superiority position of argument has gotten absurd. Remember, there are still plenty of people that die from the flu, and no one is a murderer if they catch the flu. You're not morally superior because you got vaccinated.
And just as a side note, am I the only one that has been noticing all of the "tell your doctor if you have been vaccinated" along with all of the other listed conditions in the disclaimers being mentioned on prescription drug ads on tv? I don't ever recall flu shots being mentioned as a concern for drug interaction. It may be nothing, I just thought it odd.

I have an employee: no mask, anti-vaccination. She contracted COVID about 2 weeks ago and has been and still is flat on her back and sick as a dog. She advised two of her friends who she had spent a bunch of time with she had COVID. They had received vaccines. They both tested positive but have absolutely no symptoms. Vaccines work and you are a fucking moron if you don't get one.

I am so steaming mad that I need a Friday vent. I waited 2 hours today in a hearing for a judge to tell me that she was really sorry but she had not had time to actually read our pleadings, had no idea what we were arguing and that our case would have to be continued to another date. Could not tell us that yesterday before we had to appear. Could not tell us at the outset of the hearing before we sat through 2 hours of her haranguing people. My client had to pay $800 for today's hearing for nothing. I am not pissed that I lost because I did not lose anything other than time.
LOL. Man I sat in Bonnie Bulla's courtroom for 3 hours one time for a discovery dispute. Toward the end she turned to one of her court staff about taking a lunch break and my head almost exploded. Luckily she decided to call the remaining cases and I eventually got out of there.
Be careful about not inadvertently identifying yourself. I cannot imagine there were many people left after 2 hours.
Bonnie Bulla is a bully. She went after my partner, accusing him of things he never did.
@2:23 – I attended that BlueJeans hearing and immediately felt your pain. I commend her candor about her unpreparedness, but she certainly could have disclosed that two hours earlier. Or at least before the 45 minute hearing on a Motion to Extend Discovery Deadlines.
I waited 2 hours and 15 minutes on Friday and the judge continued the matter. Guess what–it happens. I have waited longer and had the judge request additional briefing, or state that the matter is being transferred. People make mistakes and judges are people-she apologized, which I appreciated. And, since the hearing was remote, I was able to work on another matter for part of the time and defray the expense to the client. Especially now, let's cut everyone some slack.
How do you all feel about Jessica Peterson? Is she defense oriented?
Pretty sure 2:23 was referring to Jessica Peterson. She is ridiculous and shrieking oriented, a little like the Forsberg references that I see on here.
I'm an estate litigator. Judge Peterson has 20% of the contested matters. I have been very impressed by the effort she has made preparing for hearings. Few, if any judges, are so thorough. Keep it up, Judge Peterson. We all appreciate it.
I’ve been in front of her a few times for uncontested status checks and housekeeping stuff. Seems ok, but nothing substantive with her yet.
With regard to Judge Jessica Peterson-we lost Trevor Atkin who was universally regarded as an excellent if not outstanding judge. How did that happen? Why did it happen?
He has an outie, and was punished for it. As for the why, I don't know.
