Judicial elections rarely turn on which candidate would be a better jurist. In 2020, gender mattered a great deal. Gender will always matter, but tomorrow’s judicial elections will be a little different than 2020. Tomorrow, the candidates on the slate cards for left-leaning organizations will have an advantage that matters more than money, incumbency or gender. There is a blue tsunami coming in Nevada and Clark County. Those slate cards from Culinary, various Dem organizations and other progressive organizations will carry many (most?) candidates to victory tomorrow. Those slates exist in every election, but the partisan imbalance in voter turnout in *this* election will likely make the partisan slate cards a far more significant factor than past elections.

Don’t be angry with me. I don’t want this to happen, but I see the storm brewing.
Never been a big fan of red tape, but there should be more barriers to entry for judges.
Agreed. One candidate in particular running for judge lacks any meaningful experience in the court they’re running for, can’t explain how they’re in any way qualified for the position, nor any reason why they even want to be a judge. And yet people will vote for that person and we’ll be stuck for another six years with yet another deeply unqualified jurist.
Who are you talking about? If they are running for public office, it may be helpful to share their names.
Helpful how? 2/3 of the vote is in, voters don’t read this blog.
Names, plural. Since that description can apply to a number of judicial races.
Agreed. The pendulum will swing blue this cycle, then probably swing red next cycle (although it is a Presidential and Senate seat cycle, so who knows). The future prediction for 2030 is that Rosen resigns in 2029 and Governor Ford takes her seat leading up to the election – Ford only wants to be Governor so he can become Senator. Dude wants to run for POTUS.
frightening
The statewide executive pendulum will swing blue this term and perhaps red in 2 years. The Clark County Berlin Wall is going to keep it blue in Clark County unfortunately. But judicial electionwise? Gender (especially with top position on the ballot will remain the most important issues) in judicial elections. Red leaning women have no problem voting for blue oriented women in judicial elections.
The incumbent at 1600 will take a wrecking ball to the GOP brand over the next two years. He doesn’t care about what happens to the GOP after January 2029. 2028 will be another blue tsunami. Now, Trump has made the Democrats lazy and unfocused to the point where simply being “not Republican” is enough to win. Democrats will squander the first two years of the next President and get their asses handed to them in 2030 regardless of whether the GOP moral and intellectual rot persists. But 2028 is already lost.
“Will take”? I think you would be very hard pressed to identity any evidence that supports the assertion that he ever cared about what would happen to the GOP.
He has always cared about what happens to the GOP to the extent that it impacted him. That’s about to change.
