Did Eglet really kick Adams and Ham to the curb or did they go into semi retirement?

The fact that they went off and almost immediately formed their own firm would kind of suggest that their separation was pretty sudden and not planned.

I saw an article about an endorsement for Danny Tarkanian. Good god he needs to stop running for office.

“Douglas County will be fortunate to benefit from Danny’s passion for public service combined with his practical and conservative approach to government. He’s earned my active support and wholehearted endorsement in his race for the 1st District County Commissioner seat.”

Ikr, he got that one county commission seat although it’s a pretty rural county. That was like after running for 6-7 more prominent positions throughout the state and either getting primaried or losing the general. What’s he running for now?

Douglas County is interesting. It’s technically rural but pretty different from the other rurals. I don’t think the rest of rural Nevada has any analogue to the wealth in the Carson Valley and Genoa. It also has most of the Nevada side of Tahoe, which seems to me to be pretty similar to the California side – i.e. rich and liberal. But like the rest of the rurals, it still votes Republican.

This is all kind of apropos of nothing, I just find it to be an interesting place demographically.

Nevada side of Tahoe is most residents living and voting elsewhere. Douglas County population density is Gardnerville/Minden which is ranching and aircraft money and very red.

This is 10:35. That’s a good point. I happen to know a half dozen full-time residents around Stateline, but that’s probably not representative.

There’s a reason they like to call Douglas County (Minden and Gardnerville, really) state HQ for MAGA. 10:41 is spot on.

You could really say this about any ranching area in Nevada.

Although, I do agree that Carson Valley is extraordinarily affluent . . . Especially considering that Carson City is not

Imagine if you were a tourist and got zapped like that, plus all the other insulting gouging. Instead of coming back next year, you would go to Disneyland or your local Indian casino.

Bar Exam
CA returning to the MBE, and I think essays. Something CA got right in rejecting the NextGen bar exam, and SBN/NSC got wrong.

Unfortunately the MBE is going to sunset in 2028 So will the MEE. It is really hard to write bar exams. The NCBE caved into woke pressure to make the test soft ball by the woke law faculty that were lying in wait to dismantle it. In California, you have so many law grads where English is a second language. Then you have all those store front fake law schools in Cali. How do you determine if someone can think, analyze or write. Essays are the primary means and now they are not on the bar exam. I remember more law from preparing for the MBE with the top lecturers from BAR/BRI than I ever learned in law school. The MBE taught me to learn black letter law and sharpened my focus for the Nevada Essays. I learned fine line distinctions and can recite hornbook rules of law. I could not do that from law school. The problem for Nevada is the reciprocity issue. If you adopt NextGen UBE you will have reciprocity.
At least we have our own unique exam. I wish they kept the essays and performance test and just substituted the MBE for something else. They did not do that.
