Wait, why was Eglet telling people he had no money to donate to judicial campaigns in 2030? But he has 25 mill for California. Nice.
Aaron Ford needed that money to pay his son's legal fees and taxes.
What did his son do?
Allegedly, domestic violence. Did that ever go anywhere?
Dude's made a lot of money and he's doing something positive with it. Good for him.
The take away is that the money is going to McGeorge and not UNLV. He is expressing his opinion, in the most sincere way, about the quality of Boyd.
Hear, hear for the Eglets.
Or, and hear me out, he's donating to his alma mater.
It is silly to read anything into his opinion of Boyd here. It looks like he is a McGeorge grad. Many people who donate money to universities donate to their alma maters. I couldn't imagine donating money to my law school, which has an obscene endowment to begin with, but it's the only law school to which I would ever consider donating.
I will never donate to Boyd until certain people are no longer employees there. I'm taking my $20 elsewhere!
When he went to McGeorge, it was a peanut school. Unlikely to have significant emotional ties. Could see an alma matter gift to a USC or Clemson, where there is a lot of enthusiasm for the university in general, not just the law school.
11:20,
Eglet has already dropped crap-tons on money into Boyd. Presumably, they wouldn't have done that if they didn't want to support Boyd.
Damn – How much would one have to have to give away 25M? Like if I had 250M I wouldn't give away 10%. I wonder. I would guess, at least for me, I'd have to have about 750M to give away that much. Of course, I wouldn't give any to that liberal brainwashing place I went – Boyd.
The cause of education, in general is a noble one. But practically speaking, most universities are not worthy of donations for two reasons: (1) they are bloated spending machines (thanks federal student loans); and (2) liberal dogma has created an intellectual paralysis that is antithetical to the core values of western pluralism.
If you wanted to help advance the cause of education, you could set up a scholarship fund independent of the institution (which can't be trusted to spend money responsibly or efficiently).
jfc please don't start with your bullshit today
Ah, so much fun to masturbate with the facts . . .
Congrats to all who passed the NV Bar. Welcome.
Speak for yourself. Get off my lawn you damn kids!
Tried watching "Cry Macho" over the weekend without success. Truly awful movie which may well be Eastwood's last.
The applications to the bench are fun to read. Its interesting to read what sticks in their minds through the years of practice. And then you realize that they're trying to get appointed to the bench of you might have to practice in front of them. God save us all.
Holy Shiteballs are there some ridiculously bad candidates according to their applications.
All of them put together couldn't replace the left toenail on the Legendary GForce. Judges like GForce and, for example, Thompson just don't come along very often.
And don't call me Shirley – I didn't watch my friends die facedown in the muck – wait, where am I … apologies to Kerouac
Brian J Smith's website says he also had a Bangkok office because you know we all should have a Bangkok office.
Ironic that his website says "WHATEVER CHARGE YOU'RE FACING
I'M ON YOUR SIDE." No really, I will be standing exactly next to you, shackled to your right.
Dear 3:05. I don't like your posts.
