- Here’s Ralston on the meteoric rise of Attorney General Adam Laxalt. [RGJ]
- Las Vegas City Attorney Brad Jerbic met with street performers/buskers yesterday trying to work out a solution regarding proposed rules for Fremont Street. [RJ; Las Vegas Sun]
- Here’s a story about Judge Earl and a probate case. [Las Vegas Tribune]
Ralston only wrote that so he could bring up the leaked performance review again–hoping it will sandbag Laxalt in the future since he will be getting a little national press for this bbq.
If Laxalt is actually a majordomo (as implied by Ralston), who is he fronting for?
10:18 is right. Ralston is extremely insecure and petty, and for some reason he's got it out for Laxalt. Time to let the "train wreck" go, Johnny Boy. I suspect 10 years from now when Laxalt is Governor or Senator, Ralston will still be reminding us about it.
Ralston is a worthless hack. It has been proven that he is in pockets of the "Miller Dynasty"
8:53 AM has it right, me thinks.
I think Ralston shows a begrudging respect for Laxalt's political savvy in the article. Although Ralston is clearly liberal in his politics, I think he's fair to politicians he respects and while he will continue to disagree with Laxalt's politics, I think he will not continue to underestimate him in the future.
As a non-partisan myself, I was shocked that Laxalt won the AG race. He had less experience than Ross, had the horrible law firm review leaked, and didn't really seem like an impressive candidate to me. But I now think Laxalt will be with us, in one political office or another, for some time to come.
I thought the same thing about Ross Miller, from a political family, and look what office he presently holds. Things change.
Pretty sure we haven't heard the last from Ross Miller either. These guys (Miller, Laxalt, among several other families) are part of Nevada's political royalty, like the Clintons, Bushes, or Kardashians. They will always be with us.
I'm not sure I would call them royalty. They are more like an annoying gnat that won't leave you alone.
The Royalty is a joke, bunch of has beens.
I have no problem with dynastic politics, as long as the heirs are trained from infancy to be stellar public servants. Virtually all the Reids, Millers, Laxalts, etc, are small minded, mediocre mendacious men. Couldn't we do better?
So Machiavelli, show us your kids.
Anyone else notice that they are all pretty much… hmmm… height-challenged? What a wonderful combination… short (or average height at best) Napoleons duking it out in the wild-wild-PWT(poor white trash)-west that is the State of Nevada. If it weren't so pathetically disgusting, it would actually be funny.
Laxalt is only interested in national politics. This is a stepping stone.
The article about Judge Earl is just bullshit. First, Roitman is dead and can't defend himself, second the legal analysis by the author shows they don't understand the law. Judge Earl is and was an ethical person and fantastic Judge. Maybe the lawyer sucked. It is funny the brothers lawyer is not named in the article. What happened to fair news reporting or at least an educated writer. I have never heard of this paper, but clearly it is a joke.
Looks like Gordon & Silver originally represented the Brother and then the Brother went pro se.
I found the article very hard to slog through. The writer clearly does not understand legal cases, and although I always love a good slam article (hence my trolling here), it was so poorly written as to cast considerable doubt on the "facts" it contained.
This throwaway paper has been around for years. They are always "reporting" on some made-up scandal down at the courthouse, and the articles are always written at about third-grade level.
He who shall not be named used to write for the Tribune.
I wish the blog wouldn't post to the Tribune. It makes it seem like a legitimate news source.
the blog's tagline is news, rumors, gossip, etc. I place it firmly in the etc column.
What do you mean the LV Tribune is not a legitimate paper? Didn't you HawkEye was over there posting comments? What do you mean that the article looked like it was simply a rewritten version of the letter that the brother wrote without any journalistic investigation or legal knowledge?
When are we going to start talking about the bad things that the US Attorneys Office does in this state? Or are we all as afraid of them as it appears that we should be?

Cooley Law must be so proud.
Is Cooley even still open?
