Dude was a VOLUNTEER and they fired him for political speech.

“Defendants’ retaliation against Plaintiff is the result of a longstanding policy and practice within the City of retaliating against HPD employees, volunteers, and even private citizens who engage in constitutionally protected conduct or expression that in any way conflicts with the prerogatives of the City, the City Manager’s office, the City Council, and/or the Mayor,” the lawsuit states.

Henderson, you really are still that clubby backwater of backwash that you have always been.

Can somebody explain to me what kind of property interest a volunteer has? What’s the constitutional deprivation here?

They slandered him and accused him of being involved in financial fraud and that he was no longer trustworthy to the HPD. Pretty filthy stuff. Dirty Department.

Robo Calls
I get a dozen a day. The callers ghost phone numbers so blocking a specific number does not work If you answer and ask not to be called again, they hang up on you, but you will still receive unsolicited calls.
I hope the law is passed and that it is enforced.

Try getting a mortgage loan or a HELOC and see what happens – two to three calls per day for the last several months from the “Loan Approval Department.”

I cannot help but think this is anything other than an opportunistic display by Aaron Ford. He knows he can’t do anything about robocalls. Really, no one can. But he also knows that they’re annoying and that if he pays a little lip service to the problem, it’ll earn him a few votes. He really is a feckless empty suit.

A loud whistle into the phone might help discourage these calls.

The Trump admin gutted the TCPA rules, so they are essentially non-existent, especially for cell phones.

OK my criminal law friends….. I have a client. Her brother has previous criminal issues but she does not have such issues and has no contact with her brother. She today discovers that her bank accounts are frozen by LVMPD, her elderly parents’ bank accounts are frozen by LVMPD. Bad guy had no access to their accounts and there is no monies to or from the bad guy from those accounts.

Fastest way to get the accounts unfrozen because this feels like a really big overreach.

Unconscionable “civil forfeiture” laws run amok, once again. When are we going to quash this bullshit.

Looks like 3 attorneys are no longer on their site. Two partners, Jordan & Brianna Smith. And an associate, Tyler Stevens.

Question, anyone ever heard of an attorney being disciplined by the bar for bringing and maintaining a nonsensical case on their own behalf? Meaning they are the plaintiff?

Wouldn’t this depend on how “nonsensical” it was? The vexatious litigant rules seem to only apply to pro se litigants. It would also depend if the attorney in question made stupid claims to test the law or if they had no reason to believe in their case. How many cases are filed where the plaintiff represents themselves and is a bar member?
