If you are downtown, Triple George Grill is relatively quiet. Mundo is another option.

Who the hell is providing $168k loans to people with $23k in income? Seriously!

Where the hell is a $168k home that someone would actually want to live in?

I bought a really nice house in Henderson, new construction, at rock bottom a couple years ago for significantly less than 168k. I have around 100k equity right now. Timing is everything.

I have about 70k in student loans and make just under 100k as a 4th year. In the process of buying a home. It literally blows my mind what banks are willing to lend me given my student loans and income. I will be borrowing less than half of what I have been offered, and even that makes me a little uncomfortable. It's obvious we are going to repeat the housing bubble with the return of reckless lending.

The "reckless lending" starts with the decision to give college and grad students six-figure loans. But you are correct that mortgage lending is back to being completely detached from reality. You're smart to stay conservative.

Housing bubble? My Summerlin house went from $255k in 2002 to about $515k in 2005 to about $185k in 2010 and back to about $287k now. There's no telling what can happen.

And what does it look like when someone's mind is "literally" blown? I'd love to some day see that.

That article about student loans is so stupid. Does that article help anyone with anything?

11:04 – Maybe. It kept the reporter employed one more day.

The article is confusing and not at all informative.

I really wish Nevada could vote in favor of full recognition of gay marriage before the Ninth Circuit was given the opportunity to plagiarize Judge Posner. The issue has already been decided and the only "activists" now are those opposing gay marriage. Even though it is inevitable either way (through the courts or voting), I wish Nevada would have been able to vote in favor of it before being directed by judicial fiat. These judges just love the smell of their own farts so much, a Ninth Cir. opinion will only cause unnecessary resentment from the conservatives whining about judicial activism.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic that the Nevada populace would vote in favor of gay marriage, but a straight, white, Christian, politically-moderate male can dream, can't he?

Instead of optimistic, I think you should try myopic. For you to think that the gay-marriage "issue has already been decided" is pretty near-sighted.

You might be in favor of it, but there are a lot of people who are not.

Don't forget "Court Academy," with special, featured speaker Joe Scalia. The cost is only $99, and you will learn how to represent yourself. This is one of our judicial candidates.

4:05 Obviously what 2:49 means by "decided" is that the legal status of gay marriage is inevitable. You and some others may be opposed to it, but then there are still some people who are against interracial marriage.

Well, it's a good thing that we are moving to a point where the opinions of others into a matter between two consenting adults doesn't mean shit. FWIW – When I married my spouse, more than 1/2 of America (according to Gallup Polls) would have opposed the marriage because we aren't the same race. And, this was in the 1990's. Thank god all of those assholes didn't get to have a vote on whether or not we were able to marry.
