The Clark County Commissioners took no action on banning Strip news racks. One of the opponents of the proposed ban is attorney Dominic Gentile, who also publishes an Italian-American newspaper. [Fox5Vegas]
The City of Henderson has given its City Attorney, Josh Reid, a three-year contract extension and a $6,000 raise. [RJ]
Attorneys Don Campbell and Dan Carvalho shared the media spotlight before the Supreme Court yesterday in oral arguments for the Crazy Horse II case. [RJ]
The Northern Nevada Correctional Center had four inmates die last month and they aren’t releasing the causes of death, drawing the attention of civil rights activists. [Las Vegas Sun]
Not surprisingly, the unarmed man who was shot by a Metro officer at a 7-11 last month has decided to sue. Even less surprising, he is represented by attorneys Cal Potter and Joseph Reiff. [Las Vegas Sun]
I am so glad to see Gentile standing up for the Italian-Americans living in Las Vegas. They such an under-represented and down-trodden segment of the population… (ugh.)
My proposed mantra for LVMPD: "Metro … serving and protecting Slurpees throughout the valley."
I can just hear it now – "Sir, step away from the Twinkies and put your hands up."

I love this line from Cal Potter's bio on his website:
Cal is probably the only attorney in Nevada who has attained multi-million dollar civil verdicts, a “not guilty” verdict in a capital murder case, and argued before the Supreme Court of the United States.
It's best to hedge your bets when making statements like that.
I'm going to start quoting Campbell in my briefs: "He has engaged in every form of chicanery there was to be had, and is completely unrepentant and without any contrition for what he has done."

Gentile's vocal opposition to the ordinance has everything to do with a rarely read newspaper and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with his involvement in the Palamino Club.

I heard that you can make a request with the Clark County elections department to get an up to date list of everyone who will be running as judges. Can anyone confirm?

Incorrect. District Court positions are state offices filed through the Secretary of State. Candidate filing for judicial offices commences January 6, 2014 through January 17, 2014.

Kirk Lenhard is one example.
