So with this continuance Jones is now virtually assured that he'll continue to receive his state-paid salary until the day a new judge is sworn in to that department. And as a judge who simply retired, he'll get his (substantial) state-paid retirement. What a country!

Let's hope the US Attorney is somehow able to put him in prison. At least that way he won't get to enjoy the money we give him.

What? No mention of Judge Herndon's 50th birthday party/campaign fundraiser downtown tonight?

I read the article about Hutchison wearing the Scout uniform, and I don't get it. I am not a Hutchison supporter, but I did not see that his wearing of the uniform implied that the Scouts backed him. I would laugh if he wore a Sue Lowden t-shirt, as I guess that would imply she supports Hutchison!

Sometimes the politics of politics makes me want to throw up.

The scouts do not support political candidates. They try very hard to prevent people from wearing uniforms in situations where it implies alignment or support of a candidate. They tell scouters not to do it. You can't tell me Hutchison didn't have a million pictures of him with his sons in situations that didn't involve scouting. (The pictures were even taken at a scout activity) It was a stupid thing to do, and he shouldn't have done it. That said, this line of attack isn't going to get Lowden anywhere. He will still win, and he will still spank Lucy Flores in the general.

bedbugs and boy scouts? hopefully, the level of dialog will elevate for the general but why do I think that won't happen? I like Hutchison more and more, boy scout motto or not. So far Lowden has not said one substantive, non-snarky thing.

Is it just me or is this political season the most sophomoric yet?

Hutchinson dancing around as fifty or sixty year old in a scout's uniform sounds like an old pee wee herman hbo special gone bawdy. Sexy.

As a lifelong Nevadan I can't for the life of me understand why the Lt Gov office is so competitive this cycle. It's always been a nothing position.
