While the race for President has finally been called, there are still a large number of votes (including provisionals) outstanding in Clark County. Currently, election results are looking like at least three current judges will be off the bench. [RJ]

I'll be honest, I had never heard of Trevor's opponent prior to this and I thought he'd win in a walk. Appointing Trevor to the bench is one of the very very few things Sisolak has gotten right! That is a real loss for the Clark County bench, an even-tempered guy with common sense and legitimate trial experience.
What are these fringe lawyers who won their races by accident going to do once they're actually on the bench?
The PDs have significant courtroom experience. Some of these judges will surprise you and be just fine. (Linda Bell comes to mind). Others will disappoint you.
Some will surprise, some will disappoint. For as short as Atkin was on the bench I thought he had displayed better Courtroom decorum than almost any judge in the Eighth JD and always appeared to be well prepared and asked poignant question. This to me is a real loss for the Bench.

No that makes four incumbent judges, right? Atkins, Bare, Kephart, and Scotti.
Former PDs will be fish out of water in civil, so to speak. Most have no Nevada Civil experience. How will that work out?? It is easier to learn criminal than civil. Civil is always a learning curve even for those who worked in it.

when they say 400k plus absentee ballots, the "mail in" ones because of covid are included in that, right?
About the only ballots that aren't counted at this point is the small percentage of mail that might come in tomorrow and a fairly large set of provisional ballots for same-day registration and HAVA.

Really happy that Wild "Bill" Kephart lost. I know it will never happen because of political reasons, but legally, couldn't the bar go after him for his misconduct in the Steese matter once he isn't a judge? Or is it too late?
One of the other defeats, it's debatable whether it's a shame(depends on how you feel about a judge berating recalcitrant jurors attempting to avoid their civic duties, and other occasional temper eruptions).
The fourth defeat is most welcome, most welcome indeed. I don't care whether his opponent is deserving or not, or whether she was largely elected due to many people voting blindly for females in judicial races. As far as I'm concerned, in this instance the ends justify the means.

10:53–if your remarks are limited to those four male incumbents who lost in District Court(like 10:06 discusses) then I agree.
But Chris Lee losing in Justice Court should be added to your "It's A Shame List." I don't see any real reason why he did not deserve another term.

President Trump is racing to raise money for an “official election defense fund.” But the fine print on the solicitations tells a different story: Half — or more — of any contribution will be used to retire debt from his re-election campaign.

Why are they taking so long to count the votes in Nevada? The Registrar of Voters here (Joe Gloria) had press conferences the first few days after the election and making representations as to how many votes they were going to be counting every day, and then falling very short of these goals. What gives?
I remember one day they said that "we can count about 70,000 votes per day" and then the next day, they only released vote totals for about 14,000 votes. ???
I have a conspiracy theory – that's neither pro- or anti- Biden or Trump – I just think that the powers-that-be didn't want to make Nevada the state that actually turned the tide to Biden. Let Pennsylvania or Georgia be that state and then not to have worry about future ramifications politically, for funding decisions, or for other reasons.
Clark County anticipated the unprecedented volume of mail-in ballots, but they didn't want to pay for additional staff and overtime to count and process the votes in a timely fashion. While we pretty much knew the result of the Nevada presidential race on election night, it has been very frustrating for down ballot candidates that will have to wait for over a week to find out if they won or not. The delay has also given the tinfoil hat types time to come up with crazy theories on why the election was stolen from Trump. Clark County should be embarrassed.
Didn't want to pay for additional staff or didn't have the budget to pay for additional staff? There are a lot of county workers still on reduced hours.
#MeToo got Trevor… that's a bummer, he is an excellent Judge. Should have changed his name to Trevoretta – and won by a huge margin.

And Chris Lee in North Las Vegas Justice Court.
The current state of the election re judges equals Bonnie Bulla will have a job to do.

Way too late.
Kephart for Clark County District Attorney!
Kephart for Clark County Detention Center!
Haha! Touche, 1:46.
Two of those four losses are a shame.

My theory – neither pro or anti Biden or Trump – 1) general incompetence; or 2) lack of resources. If its lack of resources, see no. 1.

Adam Hacksalt.
Can we send this BOY back to Trumpland and make him disappear too? Please, pretty please?
Adam Nutsack
Besides the incumbents, is anyone upset about any of the other outcomes? Is anyone upset about Adam Ganz losing for instance?
No, Adam Ganz sucks so does Sonny Bailey.
Unfortunately Sonny won.
Yes, voted for Michelle Tobler. I also voted for Susan Bush, so upset Bonnie Bulla won.
Come on, Susan Bush?
I voted for her.
Yeah, I also voted for "Not Bonnie Bulla."
