Meh. I come to bury Dilbert; not to praise him.

What’s the problem? If you are in jail, you should be deported

Jail ≠ conviction

I wasn’t aware that conviction was the standard for a deportation

Under immigration law, a conviction is not necessary to support removal. Pretty much just being accused is enough (it’s a bit more complicated than that, but that’s pretty much the case)

Judge Peterson on the front page of the RJ today. I really like her, but that article is not flattering. The bigger problem is that the RJ clearly has it out for her this election cycle.

Or maybe, just maybe, she’s in over her head. The bar for the bench is low, but not nonexistent.

I agree. She made a decision to protect juror integrity, then she got more information (and it seems concessions from the media) and changed her decision accordingly. I don’t have strong feelings about Peterson either way, but reading between the lines it seems like she made the jurors, rather than the media, her top priority and the RJ is unfairly roasting her for it.
