Dear Henderson and NLV Justice Courts:
Get your acts together. We e-file a Motion for Stay and you flag it and say that it has to be counter filed. We come to the counter and are told that NOTHING can be counter filed and that it has to be e-filed (of course you have a lobby full of pro se litigants that are counter filing.
The horse stabbing suspect is the daughter of local doctor. Troubled kid. Wait for the lawsuits.
I am not defending the teen, but this seems to be a situation where mental health might be at play. That worries me because the animal rights crow, while passionate can sometimes be disproportionate and relentless. There was a vet from the northwest part of the valley who killed himself after he mistreated a horse in Pahrump, and video of the incident went viral.
12:24 PM here. That vets suicide was widely celebrated online by many in the animal rights community.
I think it was a Tonya Harding issue.
I’ve seen countless people on instagram calling for this teen to either be killed or sent to prison for life. Animal rights fanatics are incredibly unstable people.
There will be lawsuits. Kid I believe went to Centennial and is known to be troubled. I get the torches and pitchforks crowds who say how can you stab a horse (let alone three horses). But she is a mentally troubled kid. I just want to be really careful when we are talking about mentally troubled kids.
The teen does not deserve to have her life taken or ruined forever.
We only want to stab horses with approved sharp devices on the heel of our boots. All other sharp devices are prohibited.
Had a jail break in DC 14 today. Defendant remanded, escaped from the back room, ran through the court and out the door! Was caught running down the hall.
*attempted jail break. Nothing to see here folks, county detention officers working at peak efficiency, the courtrooms are the most secure they’ve ever been, many people are saying it.
FIFY
ATTEMPTED JAILBREAK. Nothing to see here, folks! The County Detention Officers were working at MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY—really incredible people, doing a FANTASTIC job. The courtrooms are more secure than ever before, maybe the most secure in history. Everybody is saying it. Strong security, strong officers, strong results. The Fake News will try to make a big deal out of it, but the system worked exactly like it was supposed to. TOTAL SUCCESS! 🇺🇸 DJT

The cannabis rescheduling story is the one that rewards careful reading, and frankly, those treating it as a tax-code question are missing the broader doctrinal picture. The Schedule III classification creates a valuation asymmetry that – in my practice, which now touches these questions with some regularity at six hundred fifty an hour after considerable resistance from less serious practitioners – maps cleanly onto equitable distribution problems. A dispensary license held during marriage, appreciating under a federal regulatory regime the parties could not have anticipated? The IRS 280E unwinding alone generates three discrete billing matters before you reach the first substantive hearing. The bench will not understand this. It never does when tax intersects with marital property, and I have watched panels embarrass themselves on precisely this question more than once. There is real money in getting there first. I will cover this in an upcoming legal note.
