Congrats to Patty Lee!
Very well-deserved and she'll do a fantastic job.
Allegiant Stadium is a mess. We don't have the infrastructure or parking to support it. If you happen to drive anywhere in the vicinity of the stadium during the 10 hour window around an event, it's an absolute nightmare. Disabled access is practically non-existent. Stupid stupid stupid
So you were trying to get the free turkey today. You could have just said that.
Haha OP here. I left town for the holiday so no free turkey for me. I got stuck down there one night before a concert and got to experience firsthand how bad it was.
To say nothing of the absolute shit acoustics. The only reason people go to concerts there is for social media cred. This town actually has some pretty decent concert venues. Concerts in Allegiant would have been somewhere else with better acoustics, and in that sense, Allegiant has made Vegas worse.
Aligent Acoustics
= Ear bleed
Its a Stadium. Acoustics are not even a thing.
I saw Guns and Roses there last year. Great show, lots of fun. Sound was about as good as you would expect FROM A STADIUM.
If you want good acoustics, go to the Smith Center.
Enough with Telles. What is going on with Doug Crawford? See his building remains for sale. Have not heard any further updates on his case?
Telles story is 1,000x bigger. I bet Doug Crawford was relieved to have the spotlight taken off him.
Sex > Murder if we are looking for stories.
No one cares about Telles because no one knows who he is. He's not some local celebrity, like people seem to be making him out to be on here. Go to any local public place and take a poll. My guess is 9/10 people do not know the name Telles. I'm further guessing only about 3-4/10 locals know German or that he was murdered. It's a nothing story. He's no bigger deal than any other murderer.
Stop trying to make fetch (Telles) happen.
The Telles story does have out of state appeal. Dozens (tens and tens!) of people have called me to ask about it. They couldn't wait for Dateline to do the story
Politician murders journalist investigating him for sex and corruption — that's news baby.
*boss baby
^^^ This has me rolling on the floor.
I might be late to the party here, but I saw a post that Forsberg lost to "none of the above". That's just amazing.
Forsberg beat it by about 11k votes – she had 24.9% and none of the above had 23.66%. I live in Northern Nevada and Westbrook campaigned here in the rurals very hard. People appreciated that about her. At events people would ask who the other candidate was and she never even used Forsberg's name, she would just remark that it was interesting that the other candidate wasn't campaigning here, it was pretty clever.
Some of you other fossils probably remember Eric Zubel. His obit was in the RJ this week.
