Re purchasing of fireworks: There is no way the fireworks at the stands dont come from Pahrump or Moapa. How are the safe and sane ones in Pahrump or Moapa any different than the ones from the stands??

The stands don’t have black cats that you throw and they explode. They don’t have M-80’s, they don’t have bottle rockets that shot up in the air and explode. Pretty much, they don’t have any good ones, just the crappy ones that make some noise, sparkle a bit, and smoke.

safe and sane does not include: Black Cats, Roman Candles, Screaming Mimes, Lady Fingers, Buzz Bottles, Snicker Bombs, Church Burners, Finger Blasters, Gut Busters, Zippity Doo Dah, Crab Flappers, Whistling Bung Holes, Spleen Splitters, Whisker Biscuits, Honky Lighters, Cherry Bombs, Nips and Dazers, scooter sticks or whistling kitty chasers.

I’m guessing you have either never been to Moapa, or have never patronized a fireworks stand. They couldn’t be more different. The fireworks stands have slightly more variety than your typical Target bulk package of fireworks. You’ll see your Piccolo Petes, your fountains, your sparklers, smoke bombs, snakes, and pinwheels.

At Moapa? They sell shit that goes BOOM.

Op here: I understand the difference between M80’s and bottle rockets — but I was specifically referencing the “Safe and Sane” ones in Pahrump/Moapa vs the “Safe and Sane” ones at the stands. How are those ones different?

@12:03p here – I missed the question re comparison to the ones in Pahrump v Las Vegas ones. I’ve never bought the safe & sane ones from Pahrump – why bother? They all suck as regular fireworks go. It sounds like, because they haven’t been expressly vetted and approved, that they’re illegal regardless of whether they meet the same requirements. It seems like a BS reason to me. Can you imagine driving an hour to Pahrump, buying crappy “safe and sane” fireworks because of a sale, and going out in the street in front of your house with your kids lighting a bunch of crappy little “safe and sane” fireworks? Just go to Target or Smiths and buy crappy little “safe and sane” fireworks and safe your gas.

The difference is that the fireworks sold in Clark County have been tested, the seller licensed. Anything purchased from other than a licensed stand in Clark County is deemed illegal.

There are quite a few abandoned buildings and businesses scattered through the desert between here and Cajon Pass. The entirety of Primm is about to join them. There is no future for Primm with online gambling, online shopping, etc.

“There is no future for Primm”
I don’t think so. The proposed airport will draw considerable warehousing and collateral business. Although not all the way to Primm, the only land for growth is south down the I-15 towards Primm.

They’ll probably keep their gaming license active. You know, that little trick where they have the mobile home setup where they have to gamble at least 8 hours every year, or every other year, just to keep the license active?

That place is gonna be HOT HOT HOT in 10-15 years because of the 2nd airport but now it’s kinda dead. And it’s mostly dead not because of Trump (although that does contribute) or because gaming is dead, but because the company who owns it mostly just let it rot. They could be on the forefront NOW with some ancillary businesses but they just haven’t done anything.
