It seems to me that both the Clark County Commission and the Las Vegas City Council keep kicking the can down the road, 6 months at a time, concerning loosening marijuana regulations – in a few different ways. This surprises me, because traditionally, we are known as somewhat of a libertarian state, whether you're liberal or conservative.

The Clark County Commission, however, are all Democrats, and I know the Las Vegas City Council has several Democrats as well. Since Democrats are traditionally the more open-minded and progressive party, I'm honestly not sure why they keep finding excuse after excuse to "study" the issue a bit longer.

Washington and Colorado seem to have taken the lead on the progressiveness and/or libertarian mantle that Nevada used to possess.

It is because they are union Democrats, or DINOs if you will. The only reason they have the Democrat name is because they need union backing to be elected and they take their orders from the unions. If there were no unions in Vegas, almost all of these douches would be "conservatives".

Completely not related to anything in the header today, but I have custody of my oldest daughter through the weekend of March 14-16. She's almost 14 and she is interested in a new "career" each month.

I thought I'd take her down to the courthouse sometime while she is here, IF anyone has anything interesting going on, such as a sentencing or possibly interesting testimony going on from a possible witness. I'm aware that most everything is quite boring in real life compared to her favorite shows NCIS and Law and Order: SVU, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

My suggestion – contact the JEAs of either Judge Cadish or Judge Johnson and ask if the Judges would be willing to meet your daughter.

My suggestion – carry around a squirt bottle full of cold water. Every time she even hints that she wants to become a lawyer, squirt cold water in her face. She should be disabused of that horrible idea in no time and you will be doing the best thing you ever could for her.

The marijuana issue is fraught with pitfalls. What's the downside to doing nothing? There is no downside for these politicians. Frankly the longer they put it off the better.
