The candidate running against Judge Kephart, Crystal Eller, has been sued in a 52-page fraud complaint filed yesterday afternoon. Case No. A-20-822640-C.

Still gonna vote against Wild Bill Kephart. His abuses are proven and are many.

Care to post the complaint or give summary of the allegations?

Anyone can file a complaint. Someone rallied these people 5 years later to file a bogus complaint because Eller is running for judge. Kephart is the one with PROVEN misconduct. Still voting for Eller.

What a joke that Top Lawyers list, all you have to do is pay for the feature and magically you are a Top Lawyer. Good to see Brownstein putting their marketing money to good use.

I did actually laugh at loud at some of the names on the list.

So have many of the "Top Cannabis Lawyers" really know anything about weed? Wink, wink.

Eller was let go as the Municipal Court Traffic Master. I am not sure why but she was constantly 30-60 minutes late for Court. That might have contributed to her removal.

I'm on the list and I can assure everyone that I didn't pay to be on it, nor did I even know of it's existence until they emailed me to congratulate me for being on the list. I am in Best Lawyers every year and therefore make legitimate lists.

That all being said, I see a whole lot of unknowns and obvious names missing and therefore don't consider this list to be any better than the ridiculous Nevada Business magazine list.

Speaking about the 52 page complaint, why do judges not understand that you do not need to plead a bible for a complaint? Recently had a 10 plus page complaint for used in many cases dismissed for no reason. Nothing to see here!

This is not a Complaint. It is a press release. Hence all the detail and exhibits. I've never attached an exhibit to a Complaint.

1.) Technically, there are no exhibits attached to this Complaint. 2.) There are some cases in which attaching exhibits is the right move, strategically. 3.) Big Bad Bill is Sweet William now.

"I've never attached an exhibit to a Complaint."

I frequently attach exhibits to a Complaint. I was taught that the proper way to allege the terms of a written contract was to attach it and incorporate it to the Complaint. Is that not the proper procedure still? I've never had anyone complain about this.

3:36- in California, I used to file demurrers against plaintiffs in bad faith actions for failing to attach the policy to a complaint. They were routinely sustained, albeit with leave to amend. Still surprised it doesn't happen often here.

524 pages. He essentially attached his ECC disclosures. And how is anyone going to get paid on this? Her malpractice is unlikely to cover, and that scam artists are unlikely to have anything that you will be able to find.

hahaha any list of family lawyers that doesn't include Willick (one of the best in the US) and Jimmerson (and does include some of those listed) is a joke. I am an old guy that practiced my whole career in family law, clerked their, worked for a couple of prominent firms, it's a small group that are down there every single day and I know them all. Willick would be on everyone's list and a couple people on the list couldn't find their way to the family court – it's insane

Willick is not nearly as good as he thinks he is. He's a mediocre attorney with a knack for generating paperwork, billing excessively, and bankrupting families.

I used to work for Willick. He is the Grandfather of Nevada Family Law in my book. Any list that does not include Willick is, shall we say, incomplete. And he hates that corrupt Veterans guy who will not be named so that is a bonus.

@2:16 – your mention of he who shall not be named is probably not what you want to mention if you're going to pay homage to Willick. Marshal let his ego get way out of control and got slapped down, repeatedly, by the supreme court when he went after he who shall not be named. A experienced attorney should have known better. It was a pretty clear cut case. Willick is a lot of ego and not a lot of substance. If you think he's the grandfather of anything, you're drinking his koolaid.

C'mon – haha – I too used to work for Marshal (one L, any former employees will get the joke) – read his resume, testifying to the US senate, appeals all over the place, editor of the family law manual, it goes on forever, and yes he can be arrogant and a dick, but don't question his knowledge or respect from the judges, when I clerked at family court many, many times (usually in the bench bar meetings) his opinion would be sought, so poster clear your mind, he can be a dick and be the best family lawyer in nevada (except for me of course)

He who shall not be named has google alerts for his name. If you name him, he shall appear. Don't.

You guys can hate on Steve Sanson all you want, but he deserves our respect for his service in the Marines and his tireless work as a fearless community activist.

The "he who shall not be named" is from Harry Potter and is another name for Voldemort. The blog started calling SS Voldemort way back when because he has a google alert if his name comes up, he would send pages of his complaints and other strange stuff and challenge people to identify themselves. He would also sometimes challenge people to fight. To avoid all that, people started using the nicknames.

From the Las Vegas Sun: "Lloyd George, a retired federal judge who blazed the path for others in the legal field and become the namesake of the federal courthouse in downtown Las Vegas, died today at age 90."

How did he blaze the path for other lawyers? I wish the article explained. I'd be interested in hearing more about him and his service to the legal community beyond being a judge. There has to be a reason why the courthouse is named after him. Anyone know?

He was a total gentleman, fair and reasoned, but also tough and decisive. All the old ideals of a judge.
