Jackie Glass was a wonderful person who will be sorely missed. As a neutral with ARM, I had many opportunities to work with her on behalf of my clients. She was respected by attorneys on both sides of the aisle, regardless of the type of case she was working to help the parties resolve.
I always appreciated how she was able to cut through “the noise” and help both sides better understand and appreciate both the risks of litigation and benefits of resolution — when appropriate. Many times she would work off the clock to help attorneys and parties. She was always available to help. If she didn’t get it done at the mediation, she always kept checking in and seeing if there was anything she could do to help the parties.
She and I did not always agree on the significance of certain facts, or the application of certain laws. But I always knew that when we disagreed I could trust her insights and analysis in helping advise my clients.
Even when I had mediations at ARM where she was not our neutral, I made a point to see if she was around so that I could just say hello. I will miss talking with her about her dogs, her hikes, her children and her husband.
On behalf of myself and my colleagues at Olson Cannon & Gormley, our thoughts and prayers go out to her daughters, husband, and her ARM family as well. We hope that in these coming days each of you can find comfort in knowing how lucky you were to know and love Jackie. She was one of kind.
I have found myself at a complete loss for words over this, so thank you for expressing many of the things that I have been thinking about out these past few days. Yes, her dogged determination set her apart. More than one case settled weeks after our session due to her continuing efforts and refusal to give up. She will be greatly missed.
There’s a photo circulating on social media of Jackie Glass with a group, including OJ Simpson, at a restaurant after Simpson’s release from prison. According to the account that I saw, OJ did not recognize her when someone else in her party asked for a photo. Or maybe he did but was magnanimous. Great stuff.
My understanding from one of the attorneys in that picture, they had her sneak in on the end of the line so he likely never even realized she was among the group when the photo was taken.
Afer OJ was releasd, he stayed for awhile at his friend’s house at the Red Rock Country Club. We residents were thrilled. Prior to that, LVMPD raided the home of Conrad Murray, MD, the man convicted of killing Michael Jackson. So happy we paid to live in a gated community.

Say what you want about OJ Simpson, but to his credit, nobody ever accused him of killing his neighbors. I mean, give him credit where credit is due.
And he’s gone more than 2 years now without any criminal activity, or even accusations of criminality, whatsoever.

TBH, I was put off by the OJ picture story. I always respected Judge Glass. That Instagram post made me lose a little of that respect.

This man, no longer a kid, wants to play college ball forever? Hoping for an NFL pick? Kids are supposed to be in college for 4 years and then move on to a job or profession.
In my mind, the larger question is who is footing the bill? He has been at 4 different schools and now has an attorney. Who is paying his legal fees? Is Fuller getting paid to play at UNLV?
I had a mediation with Jackie not long ago, just prior to her 70th birthday. Due to the nature of the case, we were the only ones at ARM in person and we spent a lot of time talking.
She talked about her health (that she felt great) but that she had concerns about turning 70 (she said she didn’t feel that old).
My last words to her, after she resolved that case, were thanking her for her efforts, especially to get Plaintiffs to settle, even if the number was a bit higher than defendants wanted to pay.
Glad my last words with her were ones of graditude.
Life is too short.
She always wore tennis shoes so she could move faster between Plaintiff and Defense.

If the jury comes back that quick, it’s gonna be a guilty
The defendant did not take the stand. The defense attorney waived opening. The defendant admitted multiple times he was involved in the killing. What is anyone missing?
It seems that the best argument is that your own client can’t be trusted to tell the truth about anything. So you cannot put him on the stand, but you can certainly argue that the gang culture he came up in often involves boasts and brags that may not be grounded in reality. If you view through that lens, then I think one could argue that the evidence was pretty weak. FYI I did not waste one minute of my time remaining on the planet watching this trial.
I watched a little bit while I did chores around the house. Keefe D comes off as really stupid, very unintelligent in the videos where he brags about his involvement. He does legitimately seem like a nobody trying to make himself into somebody. That doesn’t mean that he’s innocent. But if I were in the jury I would take note of his stupidity and try-hardness.
