Attention lurkers and trolls: its time to step it up. This particular blog is a two-way street, and I can’t always be the source of the posting fodder, ya heard?
So, lets hear the gossip. Who’s merging? Who’s struggling? Who’s hiring? Who’s firing? Who’s being mean to you? Who’s being nice to you? Who recently kicked your butt in court?
Who’s going to CPK’s annual party on October 14? Who wants to rehash their favorite memories from prior CPK bashes?
Who knows how the Hep-C trial is going?

Anyone hiring? I went through interviews with several Nevada firms last year and kept getting the run-around for several months. Anyone know if firms even had SAs this year?
Yes, my firm had SAs this year. I hope that's helpful to you.
any word on which judges are going down on the hoa fraud? is it just the gang of three? or are others going to burn?
There's no word yet. Is there a web site showing which judges took big campaign contributions from Nancy Quon? That might be a good place to start.
Campaign contribution information can be publicly viewed through SOS Office.
Who comprises the gang of three?
I'll be at the CPK party. I understand they're having a great band this year. Seems to me it gets better every year. I loved the comment on the invite about having to wear basketball shoes if you want to play basketball!
The Gang of 3 was the CD Judges Cherry, Saitta and Earl. Frankly I have never heard Judge Earl associated with the scandal in any legitimate circles.
2:00 – despite the economy still sucking, hiring seems to be picking up a little. I know of associates regularly getting calls from recruiters looking for laterals. If associates move laterally, that should open up some spots at firms that hire 1st years. That seems to be the way its shaking out at my firm.
So let me get this straight; Desai is now competent to stand trial as a criminal defendant for his role in the Hep C outbreak. If he ends up taking a plea, does it hurt or help all the plaintiffs who are trying to collect against the pharmaceutical companies?
I would think the pharmaceutical companies are hoping for a solid criminal convivtion or plea by Desai.
Maybe I missed this award but in the State Bar E-Mail blast today is an announcement of Saitta's appointment as Chief Justice, which states:
"During her time on the bench, Saitta has garnered many accolades, including winning an Angels in Adoption award from the U.S. Congress in 2001 and being named as one of the Top 500 Judges in America by Law Dragon publication in 2005."
Now I am not familiar with "Law Dragon" as a reputable rating agency. However any organization that believes that Judge Saitta is one of the top 500 judges for anything in this nation loses credibility in my book.
Carolyn Ellsworth appointed to replace Jackie Glass. Nails on a chalkboard.
