Is there a good list of who has announced they are running for Judge and in which department?

they’re not open for filing yet so there is no definitive list. this is just announcements, but the political consultants like Letizia will have an idea of who is running for what if you wantt to discuss with them.

Tell me you don’t practice family law without saying it directly. Great example of looks good on paper but in real life, oh my.

I’ve heard that there will be multiple, maybe even double digit, open seats in next year’s election. I’ve heard that rumors of retirement on a few judges including Williams, Denton, Johnson, etc.

Williams and Johnson(s) are not retiring and are running for reelection. Denton not sure.

Nearly all encumbants will run as they want the pay increase before retiring for PERS calculations. If they win, you will see a lot of retirements within 24 months.

It is hot so this might be me raging against the heat. Have a case where we proved up a Default Judgment against a corporate Defendant. Submitted our proposed Judgement. 10 days after submission we get a rejection of the Judgment for “No proof judgment was circulated.” Circulated to who? To the corporate Defendant who never appeared? Should I research the email addresses for the officers of corporate defendants and send it to the President of the Company for his signature? To whom exactly are we to circulate this document?

Just call the law clerk instead of posting here.

We did. They said “EDCR says orders must be circulated even if you have to mail it to the opposing party.” This is in large part a problem with the EJDC is that you luck is often as good as your law clerk. I remember when Nadin Cutter was a law clerk and was a nightmare because she believed that she was a judge (and her judge did little to rein her in).
