I never realized Prince had such an influence on the middle eastern community.
It's hard for me to decide where the truth lies with regard to VanDyke. On one hand, he has some impressive credentials. On the other hand, he seems like a carpetbagger that may legitimately have some shortcomings for the federal bench.
He is very smart. He also is a wicked ideologue whose crocodile tears today do little to shroud the horrible human being that he is.
Wow. He's a horrible human being? What did he do? Kill? rape? maim? Or simply hold different views than you do?
Very well put @2:25. I'm getting sick of people making rash and unfounded statements about individuals, simply, because they do not share the same beliefs. It’s one thing to disagree with someone. However, it is another to call them a horrible human being, simply because, they do not share your political views. Before referring or calling someone a horrible human being, maybe you should look into the mirror.
It is not his politics. It is his personality. If you knew him, you might understand.
It is perfectly ok to consider a person a horrible human being based on their beliefs.
5:12, I respectfully disagree. Nor does having the "correct" beliefs, whatever that means, make you a moral or upright person. Our nation suffers from many civic maladies in this moment. One of them is the false idea that a person is "good" or "bad" or a "horrible human" based upon what they *believe*. Do we really want to venture into a territory where certain ideas are not merely disfavored or unpopular, but rather define whether a person is good or bad?
The actions of an individual, particularly how they treat others, is what defines a good person or bad person. Even then, each of us is a complex, contradictory mix of some good and some bad in varying proportions. We all know people, or at least should, who to us as individuals, hold what we consider wrong, and maybe even repulsive, political views. If you can't say that is true for yourself, perhaps you live in a bubble. Get out there. I loathe Trump. But there are a lot of people I respect and even admire who support him.
Nazis are horrible human beings because of their beliefs.
Good one 3:38!
Random question: I am trying to think of a gift / experience for a family member who is a real foodie and enjoys cooking his own stuff. I am decidedly *not* a foodie, so I'm clueless (eating hot dogs for dinner!).
Does anyone know of a class or something geared toward people who have pretty good cooking skills already, but want to increase those skills, yet is not aspiring to be a professional chef?
Or other things like that?
What to make for dinner?

What the heck is the new combined TPO/Family Law Self Help Center – you mean to tell me that after requesting a TPO, when litigants had to walk into the next hallway for help with a divorce and/or custody matter that this was inconvenient? TPO's have always been known as the poor person's divorce. No filing fee. Support and custody fall under the purview of the commissioner. This is smoke and mirrors, nothing more.
I work at Family Court. TPO Masters do not always grant custody orders when (and if) a protection order is issued. Currently, the masters often punt the matter to an existing divorce or custody case. Pro se litigants have difficulties navigating the process of obtaining order of any kind at Family Court. Nevada has one of the highest domestic violence related homicide rates in the country. The combined process is not a panacea but I commend those at the top who are at least attempting to address some of the problems.
