Why are panicked people stockpiling bottled water? If the Coronavirus strikes, is that going to somehow stop our faucets from working? When I lived in earthquake country, the Big One would have disrupt water service, so I had cases of water in my earthquake supplies stash. But do today's hoarders think that the water supply might become contaminated?

I have spent about $2,500 on a school trip that was cancelled by CCSD. School is still silent as to refunds. WTF can I do if the school says sorry no refunds.
The issues appear largely constrained to high schools (no one is sending their elementary school class to France in CCSD). Here is the options that we are exploring with our school(s). (1) Give us all of our money back. I can tell you CCSD is exploring this option including with its insurers. (2) Give me the tickets– if you are too scared to take my kid to Disneyland with his choir, and cannot get me my money back, then I will take my kid to Disneyland to avoid eating the money. (3) Give me as much of my money back as possible and then give me the reservation that you claim cannot be cancelled.
I spoke with a H/S head Principal– he was stunned by this announcement from Central Administration without much discussion at the school level. He indicated that this was purely a risk management decision without any consultation with principals and without any consideration of the financial impact. I spoke with one of the school board members/trustees. This was a superintendant decision without consultation of the Board. Expect an emergency board meeting to address this issue.

Think you have to be logged into facebook to see it, but Myron Martin, the CEO of Smith Center had a post on Friday about the choirs and groups that have stuff planned and there was some discussion of force majeure, etc.
I think hard time claiming force majeure when it was a voluntary decision not to travel by CCSD when there are no travel restrictions in place and many of the trips were to places without any heightened Covid-19 risks.

Anyone have a closed office? I saw the CDC is recommending work from home and a lot of fed agencies are getting work from home protocols ready. We could have our attorneys work from home but I don't even know how most of our staff could do it.
My wife and I have had trouble getting paper towels the last few weeks because people have been stocking up due to Covid-19.
Paper towels, try sanitizer, tp, or lysol wipes. It is crazy. Not time to stockpile right now.
Or, for that matter, flour, rice, etc. Folks, I need to be able to make my pancakes!

Yes, but I am a solo with assistant.
8:48pm-scanning documents, using a shared drive. It is quite easy for an assistant to hold down the fort while an attorney works from home.
