Surprisingly, given the amount of complaining, there have been few challengers who have filed to run against sitting District Court judges. One of you says the challengers are coming, but time is running short.

Most who are serious about running for judge would have filed already, especially if filing against an incumbent. Cliff Marcek has been out of the country, that is why he hasn't filed yet.

I was going to file, but then I realized that I would rather just bitch about the terrible judges and continue to make my $400k nut each year.
Almost all of us who make more than the judges agree with you. And therein lies the problem. That's why its so rare that successful lawyers become judges. By the way, kudos to Jim Crockett and Richard Scotti. Both will take a massive pay cut if elected.

Why hasn't Amber Candelaria filed? Waiting for 10 years to do district court instead of JOP?

Tony Liker filed for Dept. 24 and will be running against Crockett.
Well, sure. I mean, why go to the trouble of actually running when you can plop down signs advertising your law practice (complete with phone number) all over the place in the name of political advertising?

Last time he filed, he withdrew. Let's see if he repeats that pattern this year.

Is Liker the guy who is Stanford tough and NFL smart?!
Seriously, I think Jim Crockett will make a great DJ.
Judge Steven Jones just filed for re-election in Family Court.
